I kind of got the impression that Meredith would be a Chad Bradford type who would be brought in to retire tough righthanded batters late in games-- although the Sox seem to be moving away from specialists.

Since he'll turn 23 in June he's still relatively young and really dominated the lower levels last year. He had a bad debut with the Sox and struggled in AAA, but at 23 if he can master AAA we could see him later this year or next year in the bullpen.
