Branch isn't even close to the class of these guys. Good move by the Patriots.
Just because he had the edge and Harrison to compete with doesnt eman that his stats are brought down due to their being available. I eman if he didnt ahve either of those 2, opposing defenses would be eitehr playing pass heavily (w/o edge) or double teaming him (w/o harrison). The presence of Johnson in Carolina automatically makes Smith better, so it's hard to tell which has more of a personal statistic affect.
As for teh second part i totally agree, he is nowhere near the same threat as those listed, and while I liekd him, cannot complain with the Patriots motives and how they ahndled this. I mean it's been precedented that the Patriots won't negotiate or re-new contarcts that are yet to be concluded, and has been dealtw ith the same with even better players, so branch should have seen this coming.
