The thing is people value offensive stats more than pitching. Its hard to trade a hitter straight up for pitching because a pitchers only pitches one every five days and a hitter gives you stats almost seven days a week. Santana is an awesome pitcher but most people believe they have
enogh pitching or they can pick one up through the season.
