I think the handling of the pitchers should be brought into question. Craig Hansen has been a one inning reliever his entire career, and he has two great pitches. The Red Sox move him into the rotation, and tell him to work on a changeup. That makes absolute ZERO sense. I don't see how this helps his development. Have him pitch in a traditional role in Pawtucket. One inning every other day. This five inning stuff was an absolute terrible idea.

And off-topic. The sox balked at giving up Delcarmen for Helton? Wow.

Great strikeout numbers. Let's see if he can normalize his hit rate.
I think $ had a bigger role than Delcarmen.

Delcarmen, OTOH, was brought along as his age dictated and as his success dictated. He just isnt all that good of a MLB pitcher.

He really just has that fastball. He has shown he can throw a curveball, but not with command. If he ever gets a hold of it, he will be a good pitcher.

But Hansen, a first round pick with Papelbon-esque stuff is struggling mostly because he is now bat shy after getting the shit kicked out of him.

You know this how?

If you bring up Buchholz and he gets shit on like Hansen did, you risk losing your biggest chip/prospect when you honestly dont need to right now.

If he can't handle failure, then fuck him. He doesn't deserve to pitching the bigs.
Besides, it is WAY WAY WAY too early to write Hansen or Delcarmen off.
