Another problem the Dems have is that they've done absolutely nothing productive since the mid-term elections except concede to GW regarding our military.
They were able to turn many people against the war, prolonging it in the process, and overtook Congress promising change during a time of government having some of the the worst approval ratings ever. A change has occurred - their approval rating is now
worse than GW's or their's was before midterm. Other than that, Congress has been a stagnant morass of continued politics-as-usual bullshit. They were in the driver's seat a year ago and all they've done is f'ed up. And what do they do? Continue to campaign on "change". F'ing morons.
While I believe McCain is the best candidate for president, I think the dems will have more to do with him getting to Pennsylvannia Ave. than he himself will.
