In the minors...
| Player | Age | G | SB | OBP | SLG |
| KURT SUZUKI! | 24 | 314 | 10 | .380 | .419 |
| Russell Martin | 25 | 392 | 39 | .391 | .419 |
Holy shit, he really sucks!!one! The benefit I gain is that Martin has done it for a full year at the MLB level and a little extra speed, something you won't miss. This is no huge downgrade. Martin is the best catcher in the game, but part of that is his defense. Defense doesn't count in fantasy.
McLouth vs. Reynolds
Two of the stats we are using are the original components of Runs Created. OBP * TB = RC. In the minors.....
| Player | Age | G | OBP | SLG | AB | TB | RC/G |
| McLouth | 26 | 570 | .367 | .427 | 2096 | 895 | 0.58 |
| Reynolds | 24 | 333 | .360 | .524 | 1216 | 637 | 0.69 |
The both scored 62 runs last year in about the same amount of playing time. McLouth will steal more bases, something you can afford to lose, but this is offset by Reynolds RBIs. This part of the trade is in your favor.
In exchange for what you gain, you give up some saves for a decent SP. This is not a lopsided trade, no matter how blue you get in the face trying to portray it as such. That said, if you aren't willing to give to get, good luck finding a trading partner.
