Default Re: 2008 NBA MVP kobe or LB ?

sort of like bill russells #s
nothing really impressive outside the 11 rings in 13 seasons.
im not going to argue garnetts #s because i cant defend them as compared to the stat machines like lebron and kobe.
what i can do is take into consideration how much everyone around him has improved and the fact that they have turned this thing around so fast it made even the most optimistic celtic fans dizzy.
kobe had 49 last night
lebron will get his 30-40 tonite
and garnett will score 15 with 10 reb 3 blocks and a couple of assists and the celtics will win by 30 and garnett will play 10 minutes in the 2nd half.
based on the turnaround this celtics team had with limited contributions from ray allen(sort of a down year) i would have no problem voting for garnett.
he has turned the attitude and mindset of the young guys from doormat losers into winners
hes made this team defensively look like the old detroit pistons with a much more balanced offensive attack.
I dont pretend to know how this will end come june but the Celtics went from the 2nd worst team in the league to the favorites to win the nba title and the common denominator in this equation is the addition of kevin garnett.
the best part of all this is garnett probably dont give a fiddlers fuck about the mvp so long as they win
meanwhile
lebron wears a yankee hat in jacobs field during the playoffs because as a native of ohio he has been a life long yankee fan???
fuck lebron, how much you want to bet hes been a life long cowboys or 49ers fan too?
do you think kevin garnett shows up in fenway with a yankee hat on?
this is the difference between men and boys
anyways
i think kobe wins the mvp
i think lebron comes in 2nd
garnett 3rd
and come the end of june he'll be getting fitted for a ring which may take the edge off not winning the mvp,i know it will for me.
