Kidd doesn't fit on the Mavs because of the roster. His best years in NJ, when they made the finals 2 years in a row, he had guys with an endless motor who weren't just shooters and needed a good PG to get them the ball in open space. Dirk's main offense is backing his man from the high post to the wing and fading away and spotting up. Howard likes to create his own shot. There's no need for Kidd there. Kidd's specialty is the "how the fuck did he see that" pass. Dallas just needs a PG who can fill it up when their other scorers go cold.
