I wanted to start a thread about what people are watching on TV unrelated to sports, it helps me know what everyone enjoys and see if there are any sitcoms, documentaries, specials, cooking shows etc. etc. are on that I might enjoy.

Currently I am watching a Vh1 special on Woodstock, it looked interesting and the whole time period from 1959-1976 really interest me, I've always had some fondness for the "Age of Aquarius" even though I dont agree with all there ideas.

Sorry if there is a similar thread to this but I looked and couldnt find one

Band of Brothers; I've watched it so many times and it never gets boring, probably the best TV Series ever produced in my opinion.

After this I'll be watching a couple of episodes of Supernatural that I got of iTunes in HD, another great TV series.

lol, I watched that last weekend and have been drinking white russians all week! I'm actually drinking one right now and about to continue my John Hughs memorial with The Breakfast Club in about 5 mins.

I haven't seen any of the old Hughs 80s movies in like 20 years. 16 Candles was way funnier than I remembered it being. I think tomorrow will be Ferris day.

I've read it mate, one of the few books I've actually managed to get all the way through.

There are a couple of other books related to the series that I wouldn't mind getting my hands on though.

Husband is the one who watches most of the TV, especially in summer, usually the Science Channel.

My own tv watching is very sporadic, beyond a few regular network shows in fall, but I tend to watch Survivorman or other similar themed shows when they're on/during meals. Oh, also Forensic Files on trutv or whatever that's called.

truTV is AMAZING. I watch that channel so much. Between all the cop car chase videos and that show "Operation Repo" which I love, there's so much entertaining stuff to be seen. It really is pretty cool. I like that show Speeders too ... some of the people are hilarious.

Yeah. I love Man vs. Wild. Although I was a bit disappointed when I learned that a big portion of it was fake in that he did have a place to stay for the night and shit. He's still a badass though. He eats some of the most disgusting shit ever.

Yeah I was disappointed in finding that out myself but as you say he does eat some disgusting stuff. The one that sticks out in my mind was from his series 'Born Survivor'; he eats meat straight from a carcass that Lions have left behind and ends up with diarrhea. A little hiking later and he has to relieve himself half way up a waterfall he's climbing :D

Maybe it's because I'm a gurl, but I don't like Bear (as a tv personality, not the show so much)...he rubs me the wrong way. But I understand why a lot of guys (and some girls) do like him. I like the wilderness survival shows that are a bit less over the top. :)

I love crime/forensic shows...whether on trutv or fiction. Even if the science/tech in the fictional ones makes me chuckle.

So can I take it you're a bit of a CSI fan? Thats probably my favourite of the crime/forensic genre. Vegas used to be my fave CSI but it's Miami by far now.

Without a Trace and NYPD Blue are pretty good too although I haven't seen them in ages, anybody seen them lately?

*looks at all her CSI season-DVD boxes* ...you could say that. ;)
Vegas was my fave too, until recently. Not the same for me w/out Grissom and Warrick. NY is ok, but not quite as compelling. I stopped watching Miami after the 3r or 4th season. That was all I could take of Mr. Tilted Red-Head. heh

Also liked Law & Order, both original and the spin offs. Mentalist is amusing. Had hopes for Lie to Me but so far it's "meh."

I was studying forensic science so naturally I bought quite a few CSI season sets. I could never get into the NY one though, I think it might of been because of the characters but I'm not sure :dunno:

Never watched Law and Order but an English version started over here a little while back, didn't fancy it to be honest.

Really? I was thinking bottom 10. It was great for the first 5-10 minutes, especially the video game stuff and Butters/Kenny. But all the rich people sleeping with lots of women, looking for a wizard alien because of a $100 dollar bill was lazy writing and redundant crap. The first 5-10 minutes were great, and the last 5 minutes were amazing, but the remaining half was repetitive and boring. For all of the crap that South Park gives Family Guy about not having a storyline, they didn't help themselves. I was expecting better for a premiere.
