So, today is Bush's much dreaded legalization of gay marriage day here in MA. I know of a few people who went to get a date for their marriage already, which I thought was pretty cool.
So, what do you think of gay marriage?

I don't really care one way or the other. I mean is a gay marriage going to affect my life at all. I really don't think so. I guess it doesn't bother me because I'm not a very religious person.

Wow, you all are way too up tight. I don't understand why a person has to care about another person's sexual preferences. Tek, especially, why do you hate gays so much? Such homophobia doesn't seem worth it.

I'm for gay marriages. I'm not gay myself (I like my women, thank you), but my cousin is gay and is one of the best people you will ever meet. I really don't find why people hate gays. Of course it would make me a little uncomfortable seeing a gay married couple walking down the street hand in hand, but I'll make the sacrifice so that they can be happy. If the gay marriage doesn't effect your life directly, I don't see why'd you be so against it?
BTW- While we're on the subject, I've heard a lot of kids at my school (13 year olds mind you) and some people on this board who use the word "gay" while implying that they mean "stupid". This, in my mind, is really offensive. I don't know when "gay" became "stupid" or "weird" but I don't like it.

I dont mind the gay guy who doesnt talk about being gay and just acts normal....what really pisses me off are these fruits running around in all these towns demanding gay marriages and blah blah blah...seriuously...that pisses me off...your fighting for a damn peice of paper...is it really that worth it? of course not.....now on television every day i have to see two gays guys kissing or two lesbos makin out...something I dont want to turn my tv onto evey day and see happen....its like they want all the hatred they are getting from people because they are making such a big freakin deal about it.....totally pointless...and very gross.

Every time someone talks about this, I can't help but think of Dave Chapelle as Black Bush. "War! Who gives a shit about war!?! You people are skirtin' the real issues. There's gay people getting married out there! That shit is gross! *Skipping the hilariously inappropriate part about the hot lesbians blowing on each other's nipples* Two dudes at a BBQ. 'Yo dawg, I like you.' 'I like you too, man, let's get married.' THAT SHIT IS GROSS!"
Dave Chappelle is hilarious.

About the whole "demaning special rights" for a piece of paper thing. They aren't demanding special rights. They are demanding rights bestowed on EVERY person in this country by the constitution. To not allow gays to marry is to blatantly disregard the constitution and to take away certain inalienable rights.
It doesn't matter if you don't like to see men kissing. Most straight men don't. It's a matter of principle and morality.
Fighting for "a damn piece of paper" is certainly worth it! You may be too young to understand the legal benefits of marriage, and the tax breaks involved. It's worth it to bring a lawsuit against the state for disriminating against you in every way shape and form. It's about time something's been done, and I just hope that this isn't all struck down in '07 with some bullshit "constitutional" ammendment made to particularly discriminate against a group in this country.

When I think about it, I don't really enjoy seeing two straight people kissing in public either. Then again, if heterosexual people are straight, are gay people crooked?
Truth is, as I get older and older, I care less and less about what OTHER people do.

I guess being bent over counts.
This is pretty funny, esp the described usage
