Not if they can help it, I'm sure.

I'm testing another one in FireFox right now.

It's IE only right now. It won't work in Mozilla.

...

I figured this topic was closer to "crap" than "fights"

Generally, all attempts to promote something are "crap."

Well, at least you didn't have to move it and warn the person.

This is pretty cool. It installed and works great. I like how it pulls the headlines.

I think the only thing I'd add are more links.

I guess from my personal list I'd add:

The Hartford Current page (though this is a low priority because they suck)
Bill Simmons Page2 link
The Weei feed maybe?
Talksox
SoSH
The Soxaholix
Rotoworld Red Sox page

Also, and this is just me, is there any way you could make it so that it doesn't default to BostonDirtDogs? Maybe Red Sox.com would be better. I just hate BDD.

Other than that, nice nice job.

Yea, Talksox has an RSS feed that you can most certainly add. There are seperate forum feeds as well.

I added the Talksox rss feed and the soxaholix feed... those should be showing up now.

The toolbar doesn't like the Sports Guys feed for some reason. Thats definitely something I'll need to fix. The other sites mentioned didn't have feeds (that I could find, anyway.)

Thanks for the suggestions!

Bill Simmons site should be showing up in the toobar now. I had to replace all "&"'s in the rss link with "amp;"....

That's an hour of my life I'm never gettin back

The toolbar checks a public xml doc for the list of available feeds, then goes and gets the headlines - so I can change the feeds at any time

new feeds/new version available

RedSoxRooter

do I have to reinstall to see them?

jobrown5vt

na, you shouldn't need to - you should be picking up the CBS4 sox feed now. The new version is a little more stable and a little faster but its probably not even noticable.

Still not working? Selecting a different source from the 'source' dropdown should refresh the headlines in the 'headlines' dropdown ... and then you should be able to launch out to the story using the go button.

All I have is the Sox symbol, then it says Source: with a dropdown menu of Boston.com, Boston Herald, etc. When I click on one of those, nothing happens.

Can you see the whole toolbar? You might have to unlock the toolbar then grab the left edge and drag it down to expose the whole thing.

I don't think I'm seeing the whole thing...I can't get it to work.

EDIT: Eureka! I've got it!

Fixed something that was really bothering me. The toolbars visual style should now look like XP instead of the ghetto windows 95 style it had before. You'll have to install the new version to get the new look though.

New version here...

This should be the last update for a while... I hope.

Saw this on another board, this toolbar picks up feeds from redsox.com, BDD, boston.com, boston herald, CBS4, Bill Simmons, FoxSports, 2 different ProJo sites, soxaholics, SportsBlogs and TalkSox.com ... I'm sure it'll come in handy, enjoy . :)

The toolbar has been out for a while so I'm jsut checking in to see if anybody has any suggestions or found any bugs. Seems like it's getting a decent amount of use (about 500 hits a day).

I haven't forgetten about a Firefox version - just been caught up in some other projects. It's coming soon.
