like mosox said, finally. Maybe they will now get a little bit more money, and be able to keep their great players like they couldnt this and last season. (Vlad, Vazquez, Orlando)

They've got a workhorse in Hernandez, a 100-BB/30-HR OF/1B in Wilkerson and one of the best 2B's in the game in Vidro to build upon. Their farm system is pretty depleted though, especially with Clint Everts going down with Tommy John Surgery. They do have Harris to play 3B, Izturis to play SS, Johnson to play 1B and Beltran and Cordero at the end of a ballgame to close it out (Cordero is more ready now, Beltran has way more upside). If they get their rotation healthy and some of their youngsters produce, they could reach .500 again next season. This move to Washington was exactly what this team needed.

On a semi-related note, I'm so glad they're not moving the team to Northern Virginia. First off, Virginia doesn't deserve the name over D.C. Second, I am really sick of this NoVa stupidity, that's just dumb. Glad to see MLB making a good decision here, but it should have come a long time ago. Screw Peter Angelos and his Baltimore Assholes.

And now they lose Omar Minaya, who will be in charge of baseball operations with the Mets. Any unemployed GM's apply.

I wonder how greatly this will affect their payroll?

I wonder how greatly this will affect the Orioles (probably not too much).

I read an article on ESPN.com that Cashman may be interested in the Washington job. His contract expires after this year.

Minanya isn't any good anyway, he's more of a scout

Yeah it is good the Expos are finally going to have a chance. The funniest part of this whole ordeal was that some Canadians said they were pissed? Are you kidding? Did they even have 100 season ticket holders? But I'm not worried Montreal will forget about 'em soon enough.
Things to look for:

1) What will their new name be?

2) Will they try to make some trades now and be semi- legit next year?

It should be interesting to watch.

Washington Senators no doubt. What other name would they be?

I believe they don't own the name. They'll probably get, it, but they'll have to negotiate.
