Re: Yahoo Baseball PLUS 2008
Well, cutting down a 16-team league certainly wouldn't be a problem, as it's hard enough to stay competitive when the talent is stretched so thin. I wouldn't go above 12 teams in the future, and only offer spots next year to people who have been active in this league. Gom, of course, doesn't meet this requirement at all.

Re: Yahoo Baseball PLUS 2008
I agree that paring it down next year seems to be the way to go. I thought the challenge of a 16 team league would increase the level of difficulty, and it has in a way that I like, but it's not worth the no-shows. Everyone, save Gom who I've never been in a league with before (and he isn't one of the problems), has demonstrated good participation in either the baseball league or football leagues we've had, so it's not like this could have been foreseen. That said, I'll happily go back to 12 next year.
EDIT: Speaking of which, Yahoo has opened football registration. Who is going to run it this year?

Guess that means I have to try to win it all this year.
I AM THE LEAGUE, BITCHES!!!!
Seriously, as fairness to everyone, we will all have issues during the year. Just let the rest of us know, I think would be fair. I may be going away for three weeks at the end of July. If I go, my access to the internet will be limited. Such is life. However, if I go, I will let you all know.
I like a larger league. Because the talent is thinner, it requires people to be active. Otherwise, people will draft and forget about it. I think larger rosters would have helped..maybe 25 man. All in all, ORS has done a fine job IMHO.
I vote for 16. There will always be owners more active than other owners. It's not fair to kick out owners who are active, which you will do if you drop to 16.

Probably me, unless someone wants the job. I'll wait until early to mid August.
Edit: PS, ORS I'm not trying to give you grief, just venting my frustration.

Are you saying I haven't been a good participant ORS? I'm not sure what you mean.

Re: Yahoo Baseball PLUS 2008
I thought it was pretty clear. Everyone else was active in previous leagues, which is why they got invited. The only person I've never been in a league with before is you, but you aren't one of the people guilty of inactivity.

Re: Yahoo Baseball PLUS 2008
Michael Bourn and Skip Schumaker on the block. Not looking for much, just maybe a utility IF or backup catcher.

Re: Yahoo Baseball PLUS 2008
what are the odds I can get in on this next season? I'm a fantasy baseball junkie and am currently in 3 leagues, one that I've been in for 5 years now (2nd out of 12), and 2 public ones (1st out of 10 and 2nd out of 10)

Re: Yahoo Baseball PLUS 2008
I have to remark upon the misfortune I experienced last week. JJ Hardy, by himself, accounted for 41 bases. 41. Of course, my opponent, who hasn't been paying atttention all season, because if he had he would have dropped or benched him, had him playing. I love fantasy sports.
