The team is apparently unknown, so who knwos if it's legit or if they're taking a page out of the Scott Boras book of negotiating and adding the fictional "mystery team" to the equation.

Truthfully, any team willing to pay him $36 million over 3 years can have him (unless it's you guys) if he would prefer not to take the Yankees $10 Million offer.

I know it's not a huge deal, but I made a new thread only because there isn't really a Pettitte thread, we've just been discussing him in the Burnett and Lowe threads. Figured this would just reduce any confusion.

his WHIP is always high, that much is true. He does get a fair amount of groundballs and seems to always throw 200IP. That being said, Andy got an offer from NY that was fair for his age and level of performance. He also said that all he wanted was a 1 yr deal and either the yankees or retirement. This tarnishes his reputation IMO.

Yes because it was all kisses and rainbow's to begin with. Pettitte is a drama queen. He pulled this crap right before he went to Houston. He was mad because the Yankees didn't show enough attention to him that off season. So he pouted and bolted for Houston.

And then came riding back into town on his white horse saying he wanted to end his career as a Yankee, blah blah blah. All along being thrown right into the middle of the Mitchell report, coming up with a fairly lame excuse about using. But most gave him a pass for fessing up.Then the guy say Retirement or the Yankees are the only two options, turns around and has the nuts to say he consider LA. This guy has an ego like Clemen's. And it's starting to show.

Pettitte is a cock smoker. Hell if a pitcher, but a complete dink:thumbdown...

Now it's showing more.

That he was given a pass to me really showed the supidity and hypocrity of teams, fans and the media.

First he didn't do it...then he did it, but only twice, or something like that...then when he found out they had proof he did it more than twice, he upped his estimate...he coulda just said "yeah I did it...how much?...uhhh, equal to the lowest amount of times anyone can prove."

Total f***ing lieing piece of s***.

I wouldn't give anything more than a 1 year deal at 8 million for pettitte

Which would be fair if you ask me. But that's half of what he made last year and there's no way that flies.

He had a lot more value the last time, when the yankees did truly put him on the back burner in pursuit of other options. This time, his worth is dwindling and he doesnt fit the need of the team anymore. We needed an ace, Pettitte is at best a #3 and if his recent performance is anything he might not be any more than a #4.

There is one team that really njeeds to pick up some professional starting pitching and if it did that would be right back in things for the first time in 10 years -- the Baltimore Orioles.

Nope.

Hanshin Tigers.

Well that means Yomiuri is gonna get involved. No way they let a star Major league pitcher go to their arch-rivals uncontested.

No

I guess I didn't really make it known I was being sarcastic as well. I was awake 5 minutes before making that post. lol
