A Little Bit Worried
It's only May and as a Yankee fan I can't help but be a little worried. Heres my breakdown of the Yanks so far:
Starting Rotation:
1. Johnson has been good lately and hopefully his injury isn't too serious so i'm not too worried about him.
2. Pavano has showed flashs of being very good but he tends to be inconsistent. Blowing a 3 run lead against the Blue Jays does nothing to help my confidence in him.
3. Mussina has also been inconsistent but his only Mussina like starts this year were the first one against the Sox nd mondays against the d-rays. Hopefully he is the same pitcher the struck out 15 Orioles in the ALCS and the one who shut out the A's with the yanks backs against the wall.
4. Wang has one good start and I am going to reserve judgement.
5. Brown has been awful.
A-Rod, Jeter, and Sheff have been good and i expect Matsui to turn it around but other than that they have not really hit.
Mariano is only bad against the Sox and Gordon is awful. Groom has surprised me and I hope Tanyon gets back
I hope this is NOT 1965.

Re: A Little Bit Worried
I just looked it up, it's currently 2005. So no worries.

Haha, all I can picture is stephen lynch saying "a widdle bit spewshal".
Anyway, #5 rings the most true. Brown is a complete failure and may single handedly kill your season.

Re: A Little Bit Worried
Lets look at ERA's:
Randy Johnson- 3.74 (Not bad)
Mike Mussina- 4.5 (Getting Worse)
Carl Pavano- 4.24 (Ooh! A gain!)
Kevin Brown- 8.25 (Bwahahbwahwehlkajeouaidanflasjgvas)
Chien Wang- 2.57 (Youv'e got a new ace!)
Mariano Rivera- 2.35 (6.75 vs Sox)
Mike Stanton- 4 (Nice)
Felix Rodriguez- 6.3 (Thattaboy)
Tom Gordon- 4.38 (0-2 Record)
Jaret Wright- 9.15 (Best on the team!)

Yes I've said many times I think the Yankees are done, you know you're in trouble when you have a 200 million dollar payroll and you're paying a pitcher 15 mill a year to trot out with an 8.25 ERA and be 0-4. They have more problems that I've said enough.

Re: A Little Bit Worried
i hate to be the guy who says it.. BUT, don't count the yankees out just yet. it's still early. hell the sox were terrible and went on FIRE last season to take the WC.
right now the AL east is a very close race, especially if halladay finishes strong and lopez stays consistent.

They won't win the AL West for the next 3 years, the Angels will definaltly be on top of them.

Re: A Little Bit Worried
If we trade out the Yankees for the Mets in the AL East, do you think we'd get some more competition? If so, I'm all for it.
