Ho, Ho , Ho, - " Elf's Thread"
From those great folks that brought you "The Ticket Giveaway" in the fall. A new and more interesting motivational reward. Interested ? Okay, I'm working on this as I type. But, first you must be entered into the "Secret Santa" by November 13, 2005 :
OFFICIAL Secret Santa signup thread.
If Yeszir negates the "Secret Santa' ( probably due to lack of response ) this will also be cancelled.
(2) You must be a talksox member by November 13, 2005 ( that's a non subtle hint to lurkers ) and have made at least 5 legimate posts.
(3) Enter a brief or long ( hint length doesn't help, breivity doesn't either ) description of what you want , why, and where to get it (I'm going to tell you BMW's and such don't have a chance), I'll determine the limit of spending. You vetererns should know that it could be a wide range.
(4) Tell me your favorite Fast Food place ( provide a web link if you can, because I have a problem with those out of New England ).
(5) You must be entered into "Secrect Santa" thread and meet the requirements as stated.
(6) The "Secret Santa" will be run by Yeszir
(7) The "Elf's Thread" will be run by me.
(8) The "goodies" will arrive by the middle of December or sooner.
(9) Mod's are eligable ( as they have no influence in prize selection ).
(10) I hope you've all be good, not naughty, just nice.
Ho, Ho., HO

Re: Ho, Ho , Ho, - " Elf's Thread"
I'll start this off cause it's fun and I need the holiday spirit to get through work today haha. So lets begin with fast food. You all need to check this out:
http://www.thelynches.com/Personal_P...hou_Recipe.htm
....thats what we eat in Rochester, NY after a long friday or saturday night. You would be amazed at how much cash those places roll in for such a mess haha. Pays to have a cheap food place next to a college town. College kids will eat anything when its cheap and fills you up.
On a non-disgusting note....there isn't a lot I want. Currently I'm stuck in New Jersey on a Coop which I need to graduate college and its killing me being away from everyone. More than anything I just want to see familiar faces again. So on that note probably the one thing I'd love would be a digital camera or camcorder or SOMETHING so I can see everyone. I like memories and pictures of people but never seem to have any. I have to say it makes me upset whenever I'm in a "kodak moment" and don't have a kodak haha. I really want more pictures of my father. We semi-recently found out he has a brain tumor and its hard to say how long he has. If I know my father though he is one tough son of a bitch and will fight hard through this. On Saturday a good friend of my family passed away from a brain tumor and it immediatly got me thinking I need to enjoy the moments more instead of getting frustrated and stressed with my current living location.
Its sad to think about but when confronted with disease or health issues it brings a family closer together. My family was always some what distant but in light of the facts around his health we are suddenly a much tighter and stronger family. I wish we had always been like that. If it means one thing...this holiday season will be fantastic cause we have never been so happy to be in each others company. I hope everyone else will feel the same way this holiday season

Re: Ho, Ho , Ho, - " Elf's Thread"
SFOC you really are the nicest guy i've never met. Thank you for all you've done.
Well I would this year want a min hockey set or a basketbnall hoop and I'll likely get one of my choosing from them.
For those who don't know, this is mini hockey. I want it because I remember playing with my friend as a kid before I moved away. It was awesome.

For the basketball hoop I recently got into basketball so I want to get one.
For fast food I like Mickey D's.

Re: Ho, Ho , Ho, - " Elf's Thread"
I never really checked out this forum but by looking at it you guys really do a great job.
This year for Christmas I would like either the Friday the 13th - From Crystal Lake to Manhattan dvd set or the dvd the Shining(I've never seen it). I like all of those horror movies esp the Friday the 13 because in a way its both scary BUT it cracks me up.

I'm not sure if this counts but my favorite fast food place is Outback Steak House. I cant get enough of those no rules burgers.

Re: Ho, Ho , Ho, - " Elf's Thread"
I'll throw my name onto the list.
I need very few things in life to make me happy: friends, family, movies, Red Sox, Patriots, and females.
I find that I am pretty much able to get those on a consistent basis on my own. But if there's something that would make me a happier person, it would clearly be the one thing I've avoided getting simply because...I'm lazy. That'd be a Tedy Bruschi Jersey (size large) from the New England patriots. He's my all time favorite athlete, and I even had the pleasure of meeting him and speaking with him for a couple of hours. DVDs are nice, but I can get those on a regular basis. This seems like the one I would want:
http://www.modells.com/product/index...entPage=family
I'm not big on fast food, but if I had to pick, I'd probably say Burger King is my favorite. Delicious. Kinda.

Re: Ho, Ho , Ho, - " Elf's Thread"
Great idea to have this thread, we should deff get more active with each other, forums like s.o.s.h. all know each otehr and take trips together, not sayin we should do that, but at least do a little bit more stuff like this.
For Christmas I don't really wantmuch, but I would love to get the Spaceballs DVD, mostly because I've never seen it and REALLY want to.

For Fastfood I just like Burger King.

Re: Ho, Ho , Ho, - " Elf's Thread"
you're one cool hell of a guy SFOC
im def in for this as well
Id like anything Red Sox or Patriots. most specifically a red sox 2006 calendar, something that ive done since i was little is write down the season schedule onto the calendar, projected starters, wins/losses. Yearly routine for me, haha
my all-time fav restaraunt is the Texas Roadhouse. Even the home made biscuits and cinnamon butter has my mouth watering.

Re: Ho, Ho , Ho, - " Elf's Thread"
Sox Fan on Cape you are truly amazing and are a wonderful giving man.
This took me awhile to figure out because I hadn't really thought about what I want, but I finally figured it out. I would like tickets to a Suns game. I went last night and I had the time of my life, and it's been too long between my visits to AWA (America West Arena).
For fast food I like alot of places, I'm not picky and there is plenty to choose from in AZ. But my favorite place is Wendy's.

Re: Ho, Ho , Ho, - " Elf's Thread"
The one thing I am always asking for is a gift certificate to Barnes and Noble; I'm always looking for an excuse to spend a few hours there on a Saturday or Sunday. (If I must be more specific, I'm always looking for Yankee or American History books.)
My favorite fast food place...definitely Wendys.
And, like everyone else, I want to say thanks to SFOC for this.

Re: Ho, Ho , Ho, - " Elf's Thread"
Ok SFOC, you've twisted my arm! It's really hard for me to think of something I want. I try my hardest to help others (like you have done yourself), and in turn that makes me feel like the luckiest gal around! I truly feel blessed in my life...a wonderful job (teaching 20 third graders each day and seeing the excitement when they finally learn how to do something they've been working so hard on is a pure joy), a beautiful baby, fabulous husband, and the best parents any girl could ask for. At this point in time the only thing that's missing is our new home (and I am far from being greedy enough to put up a link to the home I want! hahaha!)
So, I'll throw out something that would make a difference this holiday season, a bit of a challenge maybe...first of all, it would be for everyone who reads this to do ONE thing this season to help out someone else. Donate old clothes to the needy, support food drives, put some spare change in the Salvation Army kettles, volunteer your time at a children's hospital or food kitchen. Don't say you don't have the time or money because that is BS.
I would love to be able to do something truly memorable for my students this year. Whether that be purchase them books that they will always have (you'd be amazed at how many kids don't have books at home), bring an author or great speaker to them, or take them on a field trip they will always remember.
I'm not trying to tug at any heart strings, just being the honest soul I am. Thanks SFOC for being a great role model to the kids around here. You are showing them (and hopefully it will rub off!) what a kind spirit does in this world.

Re: Ho, Ho , Ho, - " Elf's Thread"
greenwell39, I love the support and sentiments. However, your request is slightly below the peace on earth level. I need a specific item and link. Otherwise, it would have to be at my discretion ( that's a scary thought ).
To you that have been PMed for your name and address, that means a complete address. This is a name, street ( PO Box, Apt # ). town / city, and Zip code.
Also, if it wasn't made clear in the original post ( although strongly implied ) the cut-off date is November 13th, 2005. This also applies to complet address requests or late entries ( meaning you should PM me with your name & address by 11/13/05 ).

Re: Ho, Ho , Ho, - " Elf's Thread"
Cape, after the countless PM's you sent me reminding me to submit an entry for this thread I have finally decided on something.
Now if you feel the price is too steep, feel free to substitute my entry with anything you would like.
Now anyways, my item is a 14KT solid gold Yankee pendant. (Interlocking NY)
The reason for my selection is that when I was younger, in the 3rd grade I believe, my uncle bought me a gold Yankee pendant and one day the chain that I was wearing it on broke outside while I was on the playground at recess and I lost the pendant, something I have regretted since. It had very sentimental value, as my uncle is like a father to me, so it would be nice to have another one, even if it isnt from my uncle.
here is the Link
Thanks a lot Rick
Favorite fast food is a small chain called Checkers. It is a drive-up "burger-joint". I'm not sure if you have them in New England (as they arent as common as say McDonalds or Burger King) so here is a link:

Whenever I'm in Philly I stop off and grab a few burgers there. Good stuff.
