Re: Fantasy Baseball League #2
Just a looking for an opinion on a trade i just made in fantasy baseball. It's nothing to do with this league. I traded miguel tejada for carlos guillen and paul konerko. Who do you think got the better deal? Thanks.

I look at it in terms of upgrading. You downgraded SS, but how much of an upgrade did you get at 1B? Who was your 1B before?

Re: Fantasy Baseball League #2
I had aubrey at 1b. But in terms of fantasy guillen and tejada have very similar stats. Tejada has a few more homers and guillen has more sb's. Everything else is pretty close.

Re: Fantasy Baseball League #2
Yeah, I think you got the better end of that deal as well. But it doesn't matter how fair the trade was, as long as in the end you both get what you need. He could look at the trade and say Konerko was expendable because he had a good backup, and obviously Guillen was because he received Tejada. He could have just been looking to upgrade his SS, and nothing more. Even though Konerko is a big thing to let go of, his new 1B could be just as good if not better. Who's his 1B now?

Yea good point. The reason i made the trade was to try and get mor hr's and it seems like konerko is more likely to hit them than tejada. For the most part. And yes he has a good backup in Ryan Howard.

Re: Fantasy Baseball League #2
Yeah, you made a good trade. Ryan Howard that's exactly why Konerko was a throw-in piece of that trade. Who's his utility?

Re: Fantasy Baseball League #2
His utility is Travis Hafner and Felipe Lopez. He has a stacked team. He's in 1st and i'm in second. And i needed a change to make a run. I hope ensberg can come back to old form but you never know. We'll see.

Re: Fantasy Baseball League #2
Well, in that case, you both made damn good deals. I think you only helped his team though. But at the same time you made yourself better.

Re: Fantasy Baseball League #2
Check this 1st place team out:
C- Johnny Estrada
1B- David Ortiz
2B- Bill Hall
3B- Miguel Cabrera
SS-Derek Jeter
OF-Scott Podsednik
OF-Alex Rios
OF-Matt Holliday
Util-Carlos Guillen
Util-Corey Patterson
Nice having two potential MVP's on the same team

Re: Fantasy Baseball League #2
my fantasy team would destroy any fantasy team out there (16 team league teams, obviously a 10 or 12 team might have better players).
my pitching staff is:
Starters:
peavy
harden (dl)
kazmir (dl)
verlander
liriano
lester
robertson
RP:
heilman
putz
shields
linebrink
otsuka
gonzalez (pirates for you baseball nubs)
lidge
fuentes
J. Mauer
A. Pujols
B. Phillips
T. Glaus
B. Hall
R. Ibañez
A. Dunn
J. Damon
N. Johnson
B. Hawpe: just dropped him for jim edmons who is playing like the old edmonds.
i had giambi and traded him for damon since runs and sb were more of an issue for me, i had NJ and Puljos at 1b so either giambi or johnson had to be benched at a time and i always benched the guy who went 3-4 with 4 rbis.
i was going to pick up 2 guys since i have 2 pitchers on the DL but i'm leading the league and actually don't even miss them :-D
john
p.s.- holds are a category, hence the importance of lidge, heilman, shields and linebrink.

Re: Fantasy Baseball League #2
Mines a 12 team league, which explains why mine is so superior.
