Re: 2008 Yankee News & Notes Thread
You know what's funny? Everyone is ripping Hank...but he's gotten more right than Cashman.
Cashman is clueless. I'd rather have Hank running things, and fire Cashman's dumb ass.

Re: 2008 Yankee News & Notes Thread
what would Santana bring to this team right now? As bad as our team has been, our pitching has been serviceable. The top 3 in the rotation have been getting the job done and the bullpen has been very good. Our problem is the offense. Posada and ARod out really hurts, mostly because they are our only righty power options when we face a lefty, and we have faced tons of lefties lately. You take out those two patient bats and put 2 guys who swing freely and you ruin the entire dynamic of the lineup. This lineup is not clutch. It wears down pitchers and gets em when they tire. Unfortunately, we arent doing that now.

Re: 2008 Yankee News & Notes Thread
Any official word on the Met rainout? I suspect they would look into doing a split-stadium double-header when the Yanks are scheduled to play at Shea. For historical reasons, it would be nice to see that go down the last year that the ballparks are opened. Those are always fun to watch.

Latroy Hawkins suspended 3 games for throwing at Luke Scott during a game earlier this week.

Are they trying to help us once again? Regardless, I have never had a problem with headhunting. If you go after one of our best players, be ready to be scared shitless.

Have to disagree with you there. Retaliation is a long "tradition" in the game of baseball, and I don't have a problem with that. Where I have the problem is throwing up near the head. There is no excuse for that. If you want to retaliate, throw at the waist down, keep the ball away from the head and chest.

When does Jeter's diving into the plate get some recognition from you?
EDIT: And, I'm in compete agreement with BL. Never near the head, and especially not behind it.

MJ, c'mon now, you're better than this. If anyone here should condemn throwing at someone's head it should be a doctor!!

Re: 2008 Yankee News & Notes Thread
That's a recap of the current state of affairs. I asked for something different. Specifically, when do you start recognizing, you - not Joe Girardi, that your captain, similar to our firstbaseman, dives into the pitch, and a large majority of his HBP are directly related to this? When does this happen? Furthermore, I'd love to hear the justification for a retalitory action near the head.
EDIT: And the part about diving is important, because, in many cases the need for retaliation does not exist. But, whatever, keep thinking about this like Timmy "Tough Guy".

Re: 2008 Yankee News & Notes Thread
There is no justification for throwing at, or near someones head intentionally.
