the combination of the yankee money, mickey rivers, reggie and that great aviator, thurmon munson made me hate them...before that in the early 70s i couldnt give a fuck less.
the 90s squad was difficult to dislike individually
collectively they played great baseball, hoad courage and dealt with adversity.
then the boss came back into play and once again they were easily hated.
from getting giambi sheffield mussina arod and before that, roger clemens,it was very easy to hate them and now theyre dealing with their worst case scenario which is complete indifference from the rest of the league.
nobody cares or takes them seriously this season and that must go up the old mans ass sideways...
in 04 when the yanks managed to gag up the pennant we had 20,000 sox fans standing on the sox dugout singing sweet caroline in yankee stadium.
the boss left the lights on for the sox fans and instead of liza minelli's version of NY NY they played the sinatra version which never happened after a yanks loss.
that was the end of the yankees owning us forever
he knew it ,we knew it
and it seems the only people who struggle with this concept are some of the ny fans who are dealing with mediocrity underachievement and a rudderless front office who dont know whether to shit whistle or wind their watch.
its valhalla for many of us

He was one of the few MLB players who preferred playing on a skinned infield.

Mauer ties it up. Pettitte has coughed up 3 leads. Hey Andy, why the long face?

A walk, balk, passed ball, and a groundout give the Jays a 1 - 0 lead.

70 pitch count right? So he's going to get through 3 innings today.

Wow, he went 2 2/3 innings in his first start, and people are cheering? 4 walks and people are cheering?
