Re: ...and whoever's playing the Yankees - 2008 Game Thread
Will that idiot rookie Christian get demoted tomorrow? As I posted earlier in this thread, Girardi has been a flat out failure as a manager, because he hasn't done the one thing that was expected of him--- to have the team be fundamentally sound. This team is far less fundamentally sound than teams managed by the laid back Torre. Michael Kay made the exact same point about fundamentals and Girardi right after the pick off. The death spiral continues.

7 games behind in the loss column with about 40 games left.

Another night of pathetic baseball. Yankees suck. What's new?

It's gonna be weird not seeing you guys in the playoffs. Hasn't happened in my fandom.

Re: ...and whoever's playing the Yankees - 2008 Game Thread
it has been over for awhile now. Nothing new. Close out the yr. Turn off the lights on the old stadium. Yankee stadium ends with no pizzazz. The lights will go off for the final time during the regular season. Seems almost criminal

Re: ...and whoever's playing the Yankees - 2008 Game Thread
Well, tough loss. Nothing else to say. As for Mo pitching in non-save situations...I know that it has become common for him to give up a run but I think it's purely coincidence. In most of these situations he really hasn't pitched poorly. He doesn't beat himself by walking people (5 walks this year) and usually it's maybe one solid hit and then another soft hit. He never (IIRC) gives up more than one run whenever he is scored upon. It's too bad, but you have to keep throwing him out there.
Ponson vs. Greinke tomorrow. Tough to stay positive but we'll see what happens.
Oh, and I'm really looking forward to seeing Pavano at some point.
By the way, I realize this post is probably going to be ignored (especially by the Yankee fans) because of the theme of this thread (that the Yankees season is over) but I figured I'd post it anyway.

In a way, it's almost fun. Watching this team implode is fun in a way. If we aren't going to make it, might as well totally shit the bed. Maybe that moron Cashman is shown the door now.

It's kind of funny how ARod has turned back into an unreliable performer in big situations this year after signing that huge deal. He just K'd with sacks full and nobody out. Not as bad as a DP, but it sets it up for the next guy to do it and end the inning with no runs scored. Nine more years.

The Yankees with bases loaded and none out in the 4th inning and ARod k'd. Giambi will have to pick him up.

Grienke is a good pitcher judging by simply watching 4 innings of him. But Ponson is doing his part exciting game.

Yea finally got my mlb subscription back! So far a good 1st game to watch on it. Yankee fans are feeling that their beloved team is in a spiral. Cano wasnt able to get to a line drive single in the 1st, even then the boos came out

Ponson is a pig. It will only be a matter of time before he acts like one. It might not be today, but it will happen and he'll get cut as he has before.

Wow the Royals really screwed that scoring chance up. Then again they are the Royals.
