Joe Girardi and Dave Eiland need to go
Unfrickin real. He goes to Aceves in a huge spot rather than Mo. Fuck him with a hot poker in the ass. I hope they fire him, then beat him up. He cost us the game tonight

Bob Costas agreed with Jacko. Still, you can undersand Jacko's frustration. 0-8 is a tough pill to swallow.

Re: Joe Girardi and Dave Eiland need to go
Jackson, common. You get on me for making reactionary posts about CMW (back in 2007 and this year which have turned about to be dead on by the way).
The Yankees don't trust Rivera to pitch two innings. Should they? Clearly you do, and so do I, but it's not as obvious as you're making it out to be. Now, even if you're not going to pitch him two innings, I would bring him in in the 8th with men on and the heart of the order up, even if he's not going to pitch the 9th. The 8th inning, tonight, is where the game is going to be won or lost. However, managers don't do that, so it's a moot point.

Re: Joe Girardi and Dave Eiland need to go
Mariano had 2 nights off. The pressure was on, the sox were charging and Girardi just gave the game away. That is the ONE thing I liked about Torre. When you needed a win, he put his best guys out there. The big thing I didnt like about Torre, was that he put his best guys out there all the damn time and never developed the other guys in the pen, which led to injuries to the setup guys and Mo. Now, Girardi just lets whomever take the high leverage innings as if anyone is qualified to pitch at all times. The fact that he had Veras up in the 9th proves that.

Re: Joe Girardi and Dave Eiland need to go
Maybe it's the fact that Cashman couldn't find anyone in the pen, his vaulted kiddy corp sucks.
Cashman hired Girardi? If Girardi is terrible, then who should be responsible?
I've said it for years, fire Cashman, and this team wins again. You want to go to a 39 year old pitcher to get 6 outs against one of the best hitting teams in baseball? The best you can muster is Aceves?
Fire Cashman, Yankees win.

You have no idea who is truly responsible for hiring Girardi. It's one thing to blame him for moves concerning players, but guys like the Steinbrenners, Randy Levine, and Lonn Trost could be just as responsible for choosing who manages the team.
