Re: Yankees 2012-2013 Offseason Thread
The Dodgers would make sense considering the player he's named after. It must be strange to be a Yankees fan and have other teams willing to give out more outrageous contracts than your team. It's not so fun when you're the one being out-Yankeed.

Re: Yankees 2012-2013 Offseason Thread
The Yankees situation is now the situation the Red Sox have faced forever I suppose lol They can spend with the best of them, but there is one team that can spend more if they chose to do so.

Fangraphs names Granderson and Cano as candidates for decline.

Yeah, but the dodgers have locked themselves into a ton of money. If they decide to go after every $150 mil + FA on a yearly basis, they'll eventually reach their own internal limit.

Re: Yankees 2012-2013 Offseason Thread
Heyman recently brought up the fact that the Yankees lineup might have issues with balance now that Swisher and Martin are gone and A-Rod will miss most of the season. Here are the players on the Yankees who had 100 AB against lefties and had an OPS above .700.
Jeter, 214 AB, .941 OPS
Rodriguez, 146 AB, .924 OPS
Martin, 124 AB, .880 OPS
Teixeira, 175 AB, .865 OPS
Swisher, 185 AB, .769 OPS
Granderson, 216 AB, .762 OPS
Jones, 168 AB, .705 OPS
As you can see most of them are no longer on the team or will be injured most of the year.

Eventually yes. But With the way they are spending I can see them dropping big contracts on Kershaw and Cano. They can always move Either to clear some money if need be.

Here's a crazy chart that ESPN showed this morning
HR
43 Granderson
24 Swisher
21 Martin
19 Ibanez
18 Arod
16 Chavez
14 Jones

Re: Yankees 2012-2013 Offseason Thread
Granderson will be back in the first week of May, so by sensationalizing his loss, they are misrepresenting his absence

Re: Yankees 2012-2013 Offseason Thread
Even before Granderson got hurt, it was widely discussed how he's a candidate for regression and Cashman admitted he expected the team to score less runs. Sorry if pointing out the facts offends your rose colored sensibilities. The Yankees are going to have an average at best offense and will rely heavily on their aging pitching staff.

Don't respond to him. He will surely be banned at some point shorty. He's obviously the douche from yesterday.

and still make the postseason. By the way, I could use someone to clean my house. You willing to make $5 an hour?

you sent all of us a pic of your brains, do you think that bothers me at all? You think it's funny to post someone who's been scalped? You're a true low life who likely will end up being a miscreant with no drive in life. You'll probably spend some time inbetween jail, rehab, and being homeless. Your mother will finally give up on you and one of these days, you'll OD in the street. The problem is, you'll knock up a few junkies before you die and their useless lives will continue to pollute the world like you are. It's a sad cycle. I am sure you are already familiar with the words Narcan and Dual Bed. If you are, then my prediction is on the right track.
