Default Bobby Abreu

Ok I love what Bobby's done so far, but is it me or does he have the stupidest looking jog in the world? The only way I can describe it is that my puppy walks the same way.

He's lucky they won yesterday because he did something that could have earned a little ire from the NY fanbase. He peeled off to RF instead of sliding hard into 2B during a DP -- ARod's I think. That's the type of thing that pissed Philly fans off about him. He had a big series, so that would have helped, but if they had lost that game by one, then that play could have been a huge contributor to the loss. He's a very talented ball player, but easing up on the opponent won't fly in NY, especially if it contributes to a loss.

I see what you are saying, it was on the Arod DP in the fourth inning, but if you get a chance to watch the play again it wasn't going to be a very close play at second base. The ball was hit hard and Lowell got it to Loretta rather quickly. I don't think Bobby was close enough to even attempt to break it up. However I heard the same things about his lack of effort when he was in Philly, and most of it I have yet to see. I think he forgot the outs during the second game on friday and there was a play in Chicago where he almost got picked off first on an Arod pop-up. A couple mental mistakes that really won't fly in NY so I do hope he turns that around but I am not alarmed. However, what has become very clear is that he shys away from walls. I heard that rumor as well when they got him from Philly and there is certainly truth to that. Does anyone know if he ever got hurt by running into the wall, or something like that?

I know i'm late on this topic, but I just wanted to chime in.

Anyone laugh, yet enjoy seeing Bobby with his red glove out in the outfield. I was disappointed when he was using a brown glove during one game about a week ago. Havent seen it since, back to the red one

...the little things that amuse me.
