Report: A-Rod On Plane That Went Off Runway
Yankees Third Baseman Not Believed To Be Injured
(AP) NEW YORK CBS 2 has learned that a private plane carrying seven passengers, including New York Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez, has skidded off a runway in Burbank, Calif.

It is believed no one was injured.

The incident came two days after Yankees pitcher Cory Lidle was killed, along with his flight instructor, in a high-rise crash in Manhattan.

Stay with CBS 2 and wcbstv.com for more on this developing story.
SThese guys gotta start hitchhiking. The planes aren't doing so well for them.

Seven ton hunk of glass, metal and fiberglass still can't hit anything when A-Rod gets near it.

I was listening to WFAN on the way home yesterday.

Mike Francesca reads ARod's statement saying "I'm perfect...it was nothing"

Then he proceeds to say "ARod, who asked? Is this even a story? ARod needs to get his head checked. "

Mike D ripped ARod for his statement claiming that no statement was needed because this wasn't a big enough story, and that AROd was calling attention to himself. He ALSO stated that ARod should pipe down because of "the type of week this has been", referring to the Lidle incident.

More than ever I now see the poison that is the NY media. Unless I'm missing something in ARod's after-incident comments, it looks to me like Mike D is just another Yankee-ballwashing sports personality looking to run ARod down every chance they get, and maybe even run ARod out of town.

To the media I'd like to suggest letting the FO decide what to do with this guy. Let the fans critique his on and off-field actions and demeanor. As the media, just report the damn news and quit sucking up to one guy and bashing another guy in order to cast your own views on others...true fans are smart enough to develop their own opinions, they don't need the constant molding and shaping of public opinion that the scribes and heads feel is their absolute priviledge.

Francesa is a blatant Yankee and Bill Parcels ball washer. He has been so full of himself for years. He thinks he is a world renowned sports expert who speaks pearls of wisdom. If I ran a sports radio station, I would get rid of these guys once they start believing that they are experts. I don't listen to these shows to hear Francesa or Dale and Holley. I listen because Sports is being discussed. The idea behind these sports talk stations was that they would be the voice of the fan (Hence WFAN). The hosts in the beginning were nothing more than crazy fans with some broadcasting experience. It was fun back then. The only guys that I like are the ones that still act like fans and not like sports analyst. There are few around. Mike Greenberg on ESPN is one of the few that still has a fans perspective.

"Is that....is that duct tape on the fuselage?"

"Hey have a great flight see you later bye bye" *shove shove*

"Hey wait, the pilot is only seventee-"

*mouthing* "Cant hear you through the window"
