Default Hank Bauer passes at 84

Hank Bauer, a legendary marine from WWII and multi champion yankee died today of lung cancer, he was 84.

He just made my list of favorite Yankees. He's right there with DiMaggio, Mantle, Howard, Maris, Munson and Lidle.

One of only two men to manage the A's in KC and Oakland AND he also retired with seven WS rings.

Check that. I meant EIGHT WS rings (I forgot the one he won as manager of the 1966 Orioles)

What is with all these baseball people dying all of a sudden? It seems like a lot have passed away in like the last month.

On second thought...it might have something to do with them all being in their 80's and 90's...
