Well the first run though of the 1-5 Yankees starters hasnt been all that grand, who knows if they didnt have a lights out bullpen

Paul Bako is clutch, now? Jesus, do you throw that tag on everybody?

Craziness. Pettitte in in relief in the 5th game of the year? Is this team's pitching hurting that much?

Re: April 8th Orioles @ Yankees
I thought yahoo! sports was having a glitch when i saw his picture in the game's box score, huh ok. Makes sense considering the starters through the first 5 games havent been able to pitch decent ammount of innings. Through 4 games the bullpen already has had to work 18.2 innings

Re: April 8th Orioles @ Yankees
Thanks in part to Pettitte himself (his 4 innings earlier this week), yes.

Snow with the sun out, weird.
I wonder if Pettitte will come out for a second inning.

Re: April 8th Orioles @ Yankees
It's not even that he dropped the popup, stuff like that happens, it's that he put his head down and didn't run after the ball. If he goes after the ball and Jeter can stay on the bag Tejada may not go, or if he does they may throw him out. Those are the kind of mental errors his made in his first year.

Re: April 8th Orioles @ Yankees
Yikes, Pettitte in relief? The pitching and defense has REAAALLLLYY struggled so far.
What an AB by Damon, capped off by a triple.
As for Rod, it's not like it's some miracle that he's now hitting. He's always hit. I don't believe in clutch. It comes and goes. It came at the perfect time for him last night. Good for him.

Re: April 8th Orioles @ Yankees
Every single freaking Yankees game goes like this it seams. Yankees fall behind by quite a few, work counts, put guys on, pitchers lose strike zone, yankee hitters score runs.
I would like to just watch a game where the yankees go down quietly... and Michael Kay does too. Argh!

Re: April 8th Orioles @ Yankees
John Parrish escaped that one by a hair. I'm watching on Gameday; is it true that he threw 4 straight balls in the dirt to Giambi after going up 0-2?

Re: April 8th Orioles @ Yankees
Phelps really has trouble with any kind of decent offspeed stuff. The kind of offspeed stuff that he didn't see in spring training. He is going to have improve on that, and considering standing closer to the plate if he wants to continue to play against lefties.

Three straight, then a foul tip, then the fourth.
