Re: April 10th Yankees @ Twins
Top 2nd
BTW, when someone does the play by play, you can get some things that no gameday will give. Pitches that should be strikes, plays made that gameday doesnt embellish, etc.
Posada to the plate to face Bonser. On 0-1, Posada flies to Hunter, 1 down.
1 down, nobody on, Cano to the dish. First pitch fisted down the left field line for a double.
Cano on 2nd, 1 out. Monkeybitch to the plate. First pitch swinging grounded to Castillo, 2 away. Cano to third.
Cano on 3rd, 2 down. Melky, struggling mightily to the dish. 94 mph fastball misses high. 1-0. Melky late on a heater, fouled away. 1-1. Curve hangs high, 2-1. Fastball misses high. 3-1. Melky singles up the middle, Cano scores, Yankees lead 3-0.
Damon to the plate, 2 down, Melky on 1st. 93mph fastball called a strike, but it was high. 0-1. Bonser brushes Damon back, 1-1. Fastball misses, 2-1. Bonser paying more attention to Melky than he is to Damon. Bonser misses high, 3-1. Bonser hangs a curve high and called a strike. Full count. Ump has a HIGH zone. Damons bat shattered on a heater, Morneau to Bonser, inning over.
1 run, 2 hits, 1 left on. Yankees lead 3-0.

He is hot right now, maybe a bit hotter than the regular hot streak, I just worry game to game that he is going to go back to some of his old habits (parts of last year). I am a big A-Rod supporter, so I am not bashing him, just hoping that this isn't a quick start that fades as the season progresses.

Re: April 10th Yankees @ Twins
Bottom 2nd
Pettitte to face Cuddyer, Morneau and Torii.
1-1 to Cuddyer. Pettitte sitting at 88-91 today, mostly at 90. 88mph fastball misses up and away. Ump is shrinking the zone now. Cuddyer hits one off the 3rd base bag for a double.
Cuddyer on 2nd, 0 outs, Morneau at the plate. 90 mph fastball up and in, fouled off. 0-1. FILTHY curveball swung on and missed. 0-2. Cutter misses low. 1-2. Morneau checks his swing on another solid curve which misses low. 2-2. Grounder to Cano, 1 down.
Cuddyer to 3rd, 1 down, Hunter to the plate. Curve bounced in the dirt. 1-0. Missed a bit. 2-2 count on Hunter. Pettitte has the curve working, Hunter swings over it for the K.
2 down, Cuddyer on 3rd. 91mph fastball misses high to Rabe, 1-0. Curve misses low. 2-0. 90mph fastball on the outside corner, 2-1. 90mph fastball fouled away. Rabe is on the heat, time for a curve. 2-2 count. Pettitte climbing the ladder, fouled away.

Re: April 10th Yankees @ Twins
i like how you say the zone is huge for twins pitchers and shrinks for the yanks haha, sounds a bit biased. of course im not seeing it for myself so you could be right but you must admit it sounds pretty sketchy

the ump is inconsistent with the high strike is all. I'll hold off on the play by play for now.

Re: April 10th Yankees @ Twins
Bonser and Pettitte have both thrown 47 pitches to this point, but Pettitte is at 3IP and Bonser at 4IP.

Re: April 10th Yankees @ Twins
Pettitte works out of it. This is a new pitcher from what I am used to. Lesser velocity, better location and bigger repertoire. Less cutters, more sliders, more tilt to the curveball and he developed a pretty nice change.
