BTW, when is this guy going to open the zone every pitch? Seems he is picking which ones to call based on tarot cards or something.

Magic 8-ball.
"Was that pitch a strike?"
"It is decidedly so."

Re: April 13th Yankees @ Athletics
Looked a lot like an outfielder that the Yankees traded away this offseason.

Re: April 13th Yankees @ Athletics
OK, nice play there by Dougie. Weren't going to win 1-0 anyway. Just too bad they gave away a run like that.

I'm not saying he is biased for any team right now, he is just very inconsistent in both ways on that outside corner. But the 8 ball reference is great. This guy is awful.
What a cheap run. Bobby owes us.

Re: April 13th Yankees @ Athletics
I agree. He's cheating both sides with absolutely no bottom of the zone, and he's got some phantom strikes way off the plate.

He does seem to be calling it the same both ways, so I have no complaints. Also, he hasn't really made one truly awful call yet.

And when you have a guy like Igawa who is very inconsistent with the zone, it can play with his mind. BTW, Igawa has looked very good since the first inning. If he can do this consistently (locate the curve and change) he will be very tough.

One of the pitches to Cano was pretty bad.

Yeah, the 2-1, but I'm not going to go crazy over a single pitch.

Make him work, I don't want to see him out there next inning.
Damon 4-3. Two out.

Ugh, I think he's going to come out for the sixth. He looked pretty good that inning.
