EDIT: I take back what I said. Torre has NEVER been a good in game manager however the late 90 teams were so good they could over come him.

Joe Girardi anyone?

Is he doing anything this year with any teams anyway?

Mariano Rivera blows the game tonight and its Torre's fault? I'm pretty sure I read Jacksonian praising bringing in Mariano when it happened... even if it was a little late it was still your closer that blew the game. Yes, your golden boy blew the game.

and I can deal with that. But the way it led up to that. Bringing in your lefty specialist to face Papi with a 4 run lead and nobody on. That essentially tells Myers to throw strikes first, just dont walk him and you negate his usefulness. Vizcaino, while he has been okay to this point, is a guy who walks too many. I dont like him facing Manny. And Mo in the 8th. Yeah, I forgot we have the april version of Mo. The less reliable guy who eventually turns it on and is ridiculous. But until then.

The three things that burn me the most is the defense played on Crisp, pinch running for Giambi for nearly no reason, and then not having Phelps hit for Thompson.

When Crisp was at the plate, a single is tolerable, a double ties the game. Therefore, you should be playing no doubles defense. There is no way Minky should have been that far off the line.

If he asks for an extension, I hope Steinbrenner makes him go take a long ride with Steve Swindel.

Could someone tell this guy that Vizciano does not literally have a rubber arm? He gave up 4 runs on Thursday, maybe that's a sign that he should get a day or two off. Honestly, yesterday's game was probably one of the worst managing jobs I have ever seen in all my years of watching baseball.

I wouldn't be shocked, given his work in April, to see Joe not even get to finish the year.

Torre always panicked and went for the win, whether in April or September. He could never resist going to his horses no matter how many days they worked in a row. The difference now is that he has no horses. Mo is not the Secretariat of closers any more, but he's still a horse. He's the only horse out there, and Torre will break him like he has broken all of his other horses in recent years.

My biggest problem is that he didn't let Mo pitch during the week to give him work when he's clearly rusty. Some of the blame also had to fall on Guidry.

Vizcaino gave up four runs on Thursday because he pitched poorly not because he was overworked. He last pitched on Saturday. If he can't pitch back to back days, whether he gave up four runs the day before or not, it's a problem.

EDIT: I'm not a fan of Joe either but not everything can fall on him. There has to be a point where you look at player's performance as well.

the horses are hosing off after running the Derby 6 times in 3 weeks. We have a pen that should be very good. But when the starters are going less than 5IP on average (or right around there) then you will burn them quick. Wang and Moose cannot return fast enough.

3 inning from Wright last night = Unacceptable

I don't care if the Sox had batted around, with each and every one of them hitting a home run, you must get at least one or two more innings out of him. The Yankees should not be concerned with Chase Wright's confidence, which Torre used as his excuse, but the state of the bullpen. Honestly, has Torre been watching the games so far? If he was, he'd know that.

He has got to go. Sooner rather than later.

im of the mindset that torre has improved over the years
he had the best rotation in baseball year after year and the best middle defense year after year then the felon had to go and fuck around with the roster and blam

0-century
its no surprise that youre 2 under 500 when your starters avg 4ip per and your bullpen is 0-6 in save opps
convert those save opps to wins and then youre in 1st
cant blame torre for the aging rivera, the gash that is mussina, the yeast infection that is pavano and the fact that cashman spent on igawa rather than dice k

my god is vizcaiano a fraud or what??
proctor never impressed
mrs farnsworth is on the shelf and myers had 2 good months in boston but essentially is a 1 out man..

torre??
isnt it awful watching him stuff his pinky up in his nose up to the knuckle??

hi def tv does have its problems
