Joe Torre's shit thread
April 13th NYY @ OAK
Lets Minkey hit with the sacks packed in the 6th and 8th only to have him choke both times.
Torre brings in Farns with a small lead and he blows it.
I hope torre leaves this team, he absolutely sucks.

Re: Joe Torre's shit thread
Wasn't he suppose to get the can after last season?

Re: Joe Torre's shit thread
Yeah, watching some of his actions early this season I really doubt the Yankees offer him an extension. But who knows...it's still early.

This might have been the worst managed game ever by Torre.

I agree. Proctor comes in in the 7th when he should be the setup man. Vizcaino comes in one game after he showed he had some trouble out there. Bruney, the most dominant guy out there doesnt see the light. Mo comes in already in trouble after not pitching since he blew his last save. I mean, wtf? Then to pinch run for Giambi with a 4 run lead in Fenway when you know it could come down to him in the 9th or extras or whatever and then to leave Thompson up with Phelps on deck? Are you serious?
i advocated bringing in Mo when he did, but the situation was avoidable.

He does the Giambi thing all the time and it drives me fucking crazy. How many times this year does he pinch run for Giambi and it bites us in the ass later. At this point believe it or not but Bruney might be our best pitcher out of the pen. Why the fuck is he not in the 7th or the 8th inning? If you use Bruney in the 7th then you can use Proctor in the 8th(or vise versa).
I thought bring Mo in the 8th was a mistake. Right now Rivera isnt right. He cant locate at all. I think asking Rivera to get 5 outs right now is asking too much. I love how Torre said in spring training he would only use Rivera for 3 outs. All of a sudden hes pitching in the 8th. Fucking idiot!

Re: Joe Torre's shit thread
You guys probably need to let Mo pitch in games where you're winning by 5+ runs in the ninth. I understand the concern of overworking him, but underproduction is a cause for concern as well. And with the lineup that you guys have, he may not get the chance to have as many save opportunities as in the past.

I think Mo needs to pitch. But I dont think he should be put into that spot when hes still trying to work things out.

Re: Joe Torre's shit thread
Mo will get it right and still save 85-90% of his chances, but when you know he is a bit off, you dont throw him into the fire like that. It is april, Mo is NEVER dominant in april.

Jimy the Idiot Williams used to do that all the time. I remember one time when he took out the cleanup hitter in the 7th in Seattle. The game went 14 or 15 innings and Manny had Darren Lewis batting behind him. The Mariners walked Manny 4 consecutive times and Lewis left men all over the bases.
