My argument is NOT that Pedro's time in Boston wasn't better than Clemens' time here. I agree with you whole heartedly in that sense. I'm talking about overall, careers as a whole, Clemens is the better pitcher.

Pedro was in Boston at the peak of his prime and destroyed lineups and put together some of the most dominant years I've ever seen. He was unfairly good. Clemens prime wasn't in Boston (unless you ask Dan Duquette) He put together years in Toronto and even Houston that are just ridiculous.

Pedro's time in Boston > Clemens' time in Boston

Overall pitcher? Pedro < Clemens

I'm not claiming that matching them up in their prime wouldn't put Pedro ahead of Clemens...it would. All I'm saying is that Clemens is, notably, a BETTER pitcher. Clemens has been better for longer. Pedro's body is already broken down and he's 9 years Clemens' junior. Is there not something to be said for longevity?
The part in bold doesn't match the rest of the post. Put the word "career" in there and it makes sense.

In your other posts where you state Pedro's superiority at his peak, that is when "pitcher" should apply, IMO.

As for Cy Young, you do know the stat of ERA+ compares ballparks and the eras the game was played in, correct?

PitcherCareer ERA+
P. Martinez160
R. Clemens143
C. Young138

that says it all right here . the ONLY way you can consider clemens better than pedro is based as kilo said longevity
