Mariano says that Torre's exodus will have no effect on his negotiations. he has changed his tune since being contacted by the Steinbrenners. No offer is ready, but the news is that the yankees will work hard to get an offer out to him prior to the WS ending.

The Steinbrenner's met with Jorge's agent and the rumor is that Jorge will be offered a 3 yr deal worth 40 mil. Sounds like both will be yankees next yr barring something going totally wrong.

Hopefully Posada's HGH shipment gets derailed for the next three years.

Interesting locking up that kind of money for those guys. But then again, they HAD to do it.

I dont like 3 guaranteed yrs for a 37 yr old catcher, but the options externally suck and the ones internally wont be ready for 3 yrs, so we are stuck between a rock and a hard place. For Mo, 3 yrs is also a bit long, but more palatable.
