I think you mean revenue sharing.

Yanks still waiting on Rivera

Quote:
The Yankees have made Mariano Rivera an offer that would seem difficult to refuse: $45 million over three years. But for a second day, they have not received an answer.

Senior vice president Hank Steinbrenner believes the Yankees have done enough to make Rivera happy.

"He'd be by $4 million a year the highest-paid relief pitcher," Steinbrenner told The Associated Press. "To say that's a strong offer would be an understatement. The ball's in their court. If they still want to look for more somewhere else, that's up to them."

If Rivera doesn't accept this deal then he probably is looking to play for another team. It couldn't be about the money anymore, because that is a more than generous offer.

Rivera is said to be seeking a three-year deal worth $54 million, which would make him the highest paid pitcher in the game at $18 million per season.

The 2 year deal agreed upon with Jose Molina has been finalized tonight. To make room for him on the 40 man ANDY PHILLIPS HAS BEEN DESIGNATED FOR ASSIGNMENT. I really hope we can still manage to retain him going into Spring Training.

Sorry Jacko, I know Clippard was another favorite prospect of yours

The Nationals have reportedly picked up Tyler Clippard from the Yankees for Jonathan Albaladejo.

Makes a lot of sense for both teams. Clippard is a better bet in the NL than he ever would have been in the AL and could prove to be a third or fourth starter for the Nationals. Albaladejo, meanwhile, showed a lot of promise as a reliever both in Triple-A and in a late-season callup. We just hope the Yankees use him better than they did Chris Britton.

I liked TClip, but this deal makes sense. He essentially showed that he takes a full yr to get adjusted to his level. Last yr, we rushed him and he imploded. This yr, he will start in AAA for the Nats and should be a nice MLB addition comes 2009. The problem for him was our depth, and not his ability. I think he profiles as a middle of the rotation kind of guy as he historically has solid command of good offspeed arsenal. But he pitches backwards, and that should behoove him in the NL. Nothing but good luck from my end, I liked him.

But in order to get something, you need to give up something. We get a 6'5" 250 pound 3/4 guy who is very imposing on the mound, kinda like Masterson. Except this guy has already had a limited amount of big league success. 1.88ERA in his 14IP MLB debut. What I like about the guy is that he can strike out people, but he also induces a ton of grounders. He throws low 90s with a solid splitter and should be vying for not only a spot in middle relief, but is a candidate as a setup man.

I dont know much about Albaladejo, so I have to reserve udgement for now. But dont ya think Tyler could have been part of a package with a greater return?

This is an interesting article on Joba that I came across, but rather than start a new thread I just figured I would put it in here. Nothing serious, I just thought it was interesting and figured I would share.
