Re: The official Talksox.com movie thread
I thought it was great. I wasn't expecting it to end so quickly - but it was a good ending..

Munich was great. It was long and good. You want a movie that is good, and makes you think, and full of conspiracies, go see this

I could never understand the appeal of Rent. Who wants to hear a bunch of people sing about how they're gonna die? And on top of that I'm supposed to have sympathy for junkies and people who fucked without protection ... I think not. Rent is easily the worst idea for a play/movie/book/show ever.

Re: The official Talksox.com movie thread
Not interested in the Oscar-crop this fall...I half have some homosexual theme or some depressing, dark, whatever, I guess it just isn't my cup of tea.
But Jon Stewart's hosting it, so I'm watching, at least for awhile.

Re: The official Talksox.com movie thread
Anyone else besides me seen Dave Chappelles Block Party?
I thought it was pretty awesome. Even though I'm white, it was a pretty powerful and moving documentary. I have a much higher respect for people like Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Common, Kanye West, The Roots, Dead Prez, Wyclef Jean, etc. One of the few times I have seen artists perform, and actually enjoy doing it, you know, doing it for the passion and the fans, not the money. I highly recommend it even if you don't like hip-hop music.

I of course disagree. I am a big fan of Dave Chappelle which is the only reason I went to see it in the first place. Going into the movie I wasn't quite sure what it was about and I thought Chappelle would be in it the majority of the time when the reality was he was only in it for about half the time. If you don't really like that type of music and are just going for the comedy I reccomend that you don't go see this movie.

Re: The official Talksox.com movie thread
So I was watching Saw 2 last night, just finished the last 20-25 minutes now. I have to say, it was a pretty solid movie, but it left me wishing Saw 3 came out today, because I wanna know what the hell happens... that movie left probably the biggest cliffhanger I have ever seen.

Re: The official Talksox.com movie thread
Is there any weirder movies than The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy? Just saw this on Starz. Wow, what an odd movie. I read the book when I was in 10th grade, but the movie totally showed how complicated the story is.

Re: The official Talksox.com movie thread
If you want a really good movie that will leave you speechless, then check out Life is Beautiful. It's an Italian movie made about the Holocaust. Absolutely terrific, I don't often cry watching movies, but this one got me.

Re: The official Talksox.com movie thread
I saw the Hills Have Eyes last saturday night. Dont waste your money. It was trash. Most horror films these days suck anyway so I should have known better.

Definitely agree with you on this one. Roberto Benigni is wonderful in this movie (and he did a fine job directing it as well)!
