Yeah, and I had trouble following the plot for most of the movie. Johnny Depp made it enjoyable though.

Re: The official Talksox.com movie thread
Oh man. Here we go again. You and actors. I remember that one thread where you posted like 5 pics of Brad Pitt to "balance out" the large number of half-naked girls. That was a funny thread.
I really need to get caught up on movies though. Everyone put together a list of must see recent movies so I can remember what's good and what's not...
For instance.. I haven't seen 300. I hear I need to see that.

Re: The official Talksox.com movie thread
I liked PotC. Wasn't the greatest movie ever, plot wasn't the greatest and was kind of hard to follow sometimes, but it was still a very good movie. Much better than the second one. Plus, pirates are awesome in general. And Johnny Depp as Captain Jack Sparrow is great -- that's just a great character and he plays it perfectly.
I don't get to the movies very much. And I certainly don't count down for a movie to come out...
But I absolutely can't wait for Ocean's 13. I'm counting down the days.

Same here. This is one of those few series of films where the sequals are actually good.
Al Pacino is gonna be bad ass in this movie. I can see it now.

Re: The official Talksox.com movie thread
Havent updated in awhile. Recently Shrek 3 and Pirates of the Caribbean each easily grossed over $100 million in their first 3 days. This is the first year 3 movies (let alone in same month) have been able to accomplish this feat. Similar openings to Harry Potter and Transformers just might happen
Quote:
This wknd's top 10
1) Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End- $43.2 million------$216.5 million
2) Knocked Up- $29.3 million
3) Shrek the Third- $26.7 million------$254.6 million
4) Mr. Brooks- $10 million
5) Spiderman 3- $7.5 million------$318.3 million
6) Waitress- $2 million------$9.5 million
7) Gracie- $1.4 million
8) Bug- $1.2 million------$6.1 million
9) 28 Weeks Later- $1.2 million------$26.6 million
10) Disturbia- $1.1 million------$76.7 million

That movie was amazing. You should definitely see it.
I saw Spiderman 3, which I thought was OK. They tried to do too much with it, IMO. But it was worth seeing. Oh, and Rocky Balboa was really good, too.
My favorite movie that has come out in the past year is BY FAR The Departed. We went to see that in the theaters twice.

I was afraid of that. The second one was awful. I'm just waiting for it to come out on DVD or somewhere we can download it, not gonna bother to see it in the theater.

Ah I love that movie! I saw it in Boston on opening night and it was pretty cool to feel like part of the atmosphere of the movie.

I've heard things like "funniest movie I've seen in a long time" and such. It looks promising, I have to go see it soon.
