Heath Ledger's performance as the Joker is mesmerizing -- he was incredible in that role. He truly nailed everything about the role. Great movie, highly recommended to anyone and everyone.
I, like everyone else I know who's seen it, will be seeing it again within the next few days.

Agreed. I had the highest expectations for this movie (especially Ledger) and they were surpassed. Any scene that didn't have the Joker, I was reallllly hoping he would show up. I saw it yesterday, and I plan to see it in IMAX at some point this week.

Re: The official Talksox.com movie thread
I saw it in IMAX on Friday, and saw it again on Saturday. I will dare to go as far as to say that Ledger's performance as the Joker was the best all-time for any villain. The way that Ledger portrayed the Joker was from his own interpretation as well. The director had a different impression of the Joker's character, but Ledger pushed for his own image to be the way that the role was played. Needless to say, Ledger proved his brilliance not only as an actor, but also in terms of his interpretation of character. He will be SORELY missed.
What a way for him to end his career, even though it was cut short. This is the role he will be remembered for - not that from Brokeback Mountain. At least to me.

Re: The official Talksox.com movie thread
I just saw Step Brothers and I thought it was absolutely fucking hilarious. I almost died.
I don't see any cause for the mediocre reviews.

Re: The official Talksox.com movie thread
step brothers was so stupid. honestly the plot was really stupid and the movie is not worth your time unless your willing to waste it. if you find anything funny than go see it or if you think people acting like idiots (a la patrick on spongebob) is funny than you'll like it. if you have a normal sense of humor its plain fucking stupid

Re: The official Talksox.com movie thread
I thought Step Brothers was hilarious. It was very entertaining. It's not like I went into the movie expecting it to actually be good and/or have a deep meaning. It's like Jackass - I just expected to laugh. And I did. Multiple times.

Re: The official Talksox.com movie thread
In retrospect, the only truly HILARIOUS part was the neo-nazi bit. Everything else was amusing I guess.

Little Mike was dying of laughter. I had to calm him down and tell him it was all going to be okay.

Re: The official Talksox.com movie thread
I FINALLY saw The Dark Knight. Amazing movie. One of the best I have ever seen. Ledger was crazy good as the Joker. I am definetly buying this when it comes out on DVD.

Re: The official Talksox.com movie thread
Just wondering if I'm own here but I feel like the vast majority of comedy movies over the past 10 years haven't been funny. I know that's bold and there's definitely been some funny ones, but in my opinion Harold and Kumar, Superbad, Adam Sandler Movies, Accepted, Scary Movie 1, 2, 3...etc. etc. all have the same type of jokes that get old and are covered up with a different story line.
Some of my personal favorite movies include the Departed, Good Will Hunting, John Q, American Gangster, Crash... movies that make you think and inspire you and some sort of way.
One movie that I found hilarious was Anchorman, for the record but I just feel like the comedy movies that hollywood keeps putting out are repeated and get old.

Harold and Kumar, as well as Superbad were stupid but had some good laughs. And while most of your "good movies" are fantastic I feel American Gangster was rushed and badly executed, which was disappointing seeing as we might not see Crowe and Denzel together again.
Also yeah Soxfan#1 how could you not die laughing at the brother singing Sweet Child O' Mine with his family?

Oh come on. I nearly died (well, I did all throughout the film, but especially) when they were showing the fantasies at the end and Brennan chopped down the door.

"Lumberjack?!"
"AHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
