Re: The Godfather
IMO
GF II > Goodfellas > GF I > GF III
The middle two are interchangeable depending on my mood.

Re: The Godfather
I've gotta be honest...I've always found Goodfellas as a cheap knockoff of the Godfather. It requires a lot less thought than the Godfather trilogy does so, depending on your mood, I guess it could be decent. I've never been a huge fan, though.
Goodfellas only won Best Supporting Actor....The Godfather won Best Picture, Best Actor, and Best Writing from a Screenplay.

I love both movies. The Godfather is the Hollywood version. Goodfellas is the real story.

Re: The Godfather
I loved Goodfella's too but the only similarity (IMO) between it and The Godfather are that they are both movies about the mafia. Like .700 said, Goodfella's is a true story based on Henry Hill's life, from the book Wiseguys.

Re: The Godfather
I didnt know it was gonna be that long. I fast forwarded through the commercials and it still was nearly 4 hours long. I thought it was very good, but I liked GF I better. Didnt like the fact that he whacked Fredo after essentially allowing him back into the family. If he was gonna whack him, whacking him right after his mom's funeral would have been appropriate.

He did have Fredo whacked after his mother's funeral. Dude, you need to rent the movie, the version they show on AMC has a lot of out takes and crap.
Michael got way too paranoid and should have never whacked Fredo in the first place. That's what a lot of Part III is about, his dealing w/ the guilt.

Re: The Godfather
The Godfather Parts 1 and 2 are the best movies of all time. The Godfather 3 is quite possibly the worst movie of all time.
*spoilers*
I was actually happy in the end of 3 when Mary died. That was definitely the worst acting performance ever. Ah, nepotism.
