Re: 5/14 @ Baltimore Orioles
Hansen comes in and gives up a hit and a walk to two batters.
He could be our closer.

Re: 5/14 @ Baltimore Orioles
Do the coaches even look at the god damn numbers during the games? 8 out of 11, now 11 of 14, inherited runners have scored off 'Jima

Re: 5/14 @ Baltimore Orioles
That worked out great. Why bring in Okajima when Hansen has been pitching OK (infield single, long tough AB to Roberts)? Meh.

Re: 5/14 @ Baltimore Orioles
Okajima is letting a shitload of inherited runners score this year.

Re: 5/14 @ Baltimore Orioles
Well even if this slumping offense is not able to comeback, I still consider this a successful outing for Lester who really is impressive when he goes right after the hitters and can keep the ball down.

Re: 5/14 @ Baltimore Orioles
Lester was good today as has been his recent trend. When he trusts his stuff and can locate, he is a solid starter. He just never proved he could do it over a lengthy stint. If he continues to pitch like this, then he'll be good.

Re: 5/14 @ Baltimore Orioles
And that's what Okajima is excellent at... starting innings.

Re: 5/14 @ Baltimore Orioles
Not a good game today at all. We once again build a decent size lead of 3-0 and then for some reason the offense thinks that it would be cool to just stop there. Lester looked good early today until the end of his outing where everything started to be up. Hansen's line does not look good but, in my opinion, he really didn't have that bad of an outing. Okajima is showing that he can not be trusted with inherited runners and maybe Francona and Mills will decide to look at the damn stats and only bring him in for a fresh inning. It's just so frustrating to watch the offense have weak AB after weak AB and then have our lead slip away throughout the game by the subpar pitching performances. These guys better rest up and be ready to go after this off day

Re: 5/14 @ Baltimore Orioles
Nothing big on Pitch f/x for any pitcher except Craig Hansen.
However...
The umpire blew the call on two out of three pitches Hansen threw that should've been called strikes. The first pitch to Quiroz was strike one, not ball one, and that might've changed the second pitch that Quiroz hit for a single. The second pitch to Roberts was strike two, not ball one, and the third pitch was a swinging strike that would've ended the inning before the grand slam.
