Maybe my recollection is of one particularly good game. Probably in Detroit.

Nice. That's a couple of Houdini acts from sure run scoring situations today.

Has anyone on this board officially welcomed Gabe Kapler back to Fenway?

I always liked that guy for some reason. I saw him when he was a Ranger, and all the girls in the RF seats were yelling, "Gaaaa-abe! Oh, Gaaaa-abe!" at him. Good times.

There are chunks of Dave Bush in Mike Lowell's stool.

Welcome back, Gabe.

BTW, Gabe, if you're posting here, did doing steroids for a year as a MiLB manager help you in your comeback in Milwaukee?

I like Gabe too. Glad he's back in the game. He still has plenty of time to manage. Nice article in the Globe about him today. Oh and Gagne got his WS ring....

Gabe Kapler was slugging .522 entering today's games. His career SLG was .421; his highest season SLG was .473 at age 24 in 2000; he hadn't slugged over .355 since the start of MLB steroid testing.

Just checking the Brewers' stats and it appears that their 1 and 2 hitters are below the Mendoza line. Now, I'm no professional manager, buut don't you usually put those guys, uh, near the bottom of the lineup? Or do they do things differently in the NL?

Whats the criteria for getting a WS ring? Just having been in at least one game for the team that season?

Does Wily Mo get one? Jeff Bailey? Buchholz?

Does Youk have one from 04?

Sheer coincidence.

Anyone's SLG can jump 100 points for no reason. Just ask Sosa, Bonds, Palmeiro, McGwire, or Giambi. They'll all tell you the same thing.

I believe it is just 1 game, so they all get one.
