Re: 5/21 vs. Kansas City Royals
I think at the start of the season Manny said he would hit for Papi if needed when Ortiz was going thru that bad slump. May be Ortiz can say the same about Manny now? It will be nice if they both hit at the same time for a change.
And - $20 million option will be an interesting discussion throughout the season.

Re: 5/21 vs. Kansas City Royals
Nice 1-2-3 inning for Delcarmen. Hopefully this can jump start him to return to '07 form.

My point was - either Manny or Papi has been hitting for us this season.

Re: 5/21 vs. Kansas City Royals
OK...
Bases loaded, two out, 3-0 count.
I don't take strike one: I try to get two runs on a hit off a grooved fastball.
But no way I take another grooved fastball for strike two...no way.

6 in a row! Colon showed promise tonight and the offense was clicking. Make it 7 tomorrow afternoon.

Re: 5/21 vs. Kansas City Royals
sox are balanced
speed, power, good baserunning, clutchhitting and now we got another arm out there
imagine 100ip of 3.5 era from this giabrone?
perhaps a pivotal spot in the rotation come october??
he looks as if he ate rich garces but he should be better as he gets into shape
if he dont get into shape he wont be anything more than a 5ip guy and remember
before we start jacking each other off over this was KC,a team that is unraveling offensively and they left a few guys on early...

Re: 5/21 vs. Kansas City Royals
With some notable exceptions there was a lot of suck in this gamethread last night.

Colon was nearing his limit and had to sit for a very lengthy bottom of the 5th. It was absolutely the right move there.

If only we had David Eckstein.
