Re: 9/3 Dice avoids the reverse lock
What a huge win today. So glad we didn't drop this last game vs Baltimore. Now we can sit back and relax tonight and hopefully the Yankees and Blue Jays can help us out some more.

Re: 9/3 Dice avoids the reverse lock
after watching tampa the last 2 evenings i am of the mindset that they are almost out of gas.
this is opinion of course but they had some defensive blunders and bonehead plays that werent being made last month.
they got 8 games in florida in september?
we may catch them but thats not my concern,my concern is in our play and once again we rallied from the jaws of defeat to win a late inning game.

Re: 9/3 Dice avoids the reverse lock
Tampa won't falter, regardless of what their schedule is like the rest of the year. They'll lose a game or two here and there but it will still be up to the Sox to maintain their current level of play if they wanna take over the division

Re: 9/3 Dice avoids the reverse lock
Tampa could very well falter as they are a .500 team on the road and their pitching staff has never thrown this many innings.

Re: 9/3 Dice avoids the reverse lock
The key here, IMO, is to maintain a comfortable lead in the wild card race, thereby allowing Tito to rest some guys and, hopefully, peak at the right time, i.e. right at playoff time.

Re: 9/3 Dice avoids the reverse lock
The pythags are also in our favor, as we lead by 4 games in that regard.

Re: 9/3 Dice avoids the reverse lock
thats how i feel
the rays are a good team that has a lot of balance and plays great team defense.
that said
the studs they do have are banged up,their pitching,as solid as its been is essentially untested and the road thru september takes them all over the place which isnt their forte based on their record.
they have the advantage but i like our position and our schedule

those are very good points but people have been talking about the Rays dropping off for months now and it hasn't really happened so I wouldn't count on it
