Having said that, the "unwritten rules" regarding the GT start are at least one of the endearing qualities of Talksox. The system has worked and no one seems to have had a problem with it to date (as far as I know).
Anyone who wants to start the GT just has to wait. And of course, be a contributing member of the board.

I was just messing with her. She said in her post something like "you could say I have issues..." so I said she had issues. I wasn't being serious.

Thanks spudboy! It's great to have all these new posters who contribute etc. This MileHigh person rarely contributes, that's why it wasn't quite as big a deal when Dutchy started it.

I sort of figured that. I just wanted to chime in with my opinion. All's cool.

I'd give him credit for keeping that AL Cy Young Watch thread updated though

I have a bad feeling about tonight's game, Mark Teahen is on the Royals.

I'm new here too. I'm still getting my feet wet. I' don't know all the rules and traditions.
The GT start "rule" was stated somewhere else today, maybe on this thread. As I understand it (so far), the person who starts a GT continues to start the GT until the Sox lose a game started by that person. After that, I don't really understand how the next person is selected.
I was asked to start a GT about 1-2 weeks ago for the first time. I don't know how or why that happened. I guess that there is some kind of understanding among "veteran" or "senior" members as to how the selection is made. I really don't know.
My advice to any new member that has a desire to start a GT is to continue to make contributions to the board without being a total ass. Eventually you will get a shot.
Maybe it would be helpful for a further explanation of these "rules" by a Mod. or our Administrator.

Re: 7/9 v. Kansas City
well then Dutchy you are lucky that the Sox won the first time you started a GT or else you may have been shunned from the GT for all of eternity
