Ahh, Carrigan M.S., my wife went there. Amazingly she can spell her name. Kidding...sort of.

Anyway, I love where they interviewed a 14 yr old Yankee fan who said of the Yanks "They have all my favorite players. A-Rod and Jeter.” "All" two of them? My kid can rip off 80% of the Sox 25 man roster with no problem. He's 12.

Know your team, kid.

Now that the school has accepted the generous offer by the Sox, I wouldn't be surprised to see this story get picked up by some of the national media.

We had middle school baseball back in the day. I was a young 11 in 6th grade but was one of two 6th graders who made the team. I was freaked out the first day of practice when our CF, a 9th grader, drove his car to practice.

To be fair to the Yankees, who could not be reached for comment, an alternative tour date of June 16 was finally offered to Carrigan, but school leaders decided the stadium arrival time of 9 a.m. (which would require a West Haven departure time of 6 a.m.) would be difficult to make work.

And who knows what would happen if the bus hit traffic again on the way there.

Also, the Yankees are refunding the school for the canceled stadium tour, which cost $15 per student. The total cost of the field trip, which included stops at the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, was $65 per kid.
