Default Cubs Sign Choir Boy Milton Bradley

Quote:
The Chicago Cubs have agreed to terms with outfielder Milton Bradley on a three year deal said to be worth $30-million.

Bradley led the American League in on-base percentage last season with the Texas Rangers. His presence in the Chicago lineup is expected to balance the overload of right-hand hitters. Bradley hit .321 with 22 homers for Texas.

The two biggest issues with the 30-year old switch hitter are his temper and the injury bug. His 126 games played in 2008, is his second highest total in his eight-year career. He's only ever cracked the 100 games played level in three seasons. When he's on, he can really hit - which makes him the ultimate risk/reward free agent.

Anyone want to take bets on how far he gets into this contract before the Cubs have to suspend him? I'll bet he gets suspended by August 20th of 2009.

Actually, i think Sweet Lou is gonna keep Bradley in his best behavior.

Mark my words, the first tantrum Bradley throws, Lou is gonna own him so hard, he will never throw another one in a Cubs uniform.

I say Lou wins by submission by using a cobra clutch, al a Sergeant Slaughter. Lou's old school and that's an old school move.

Was it Bradley or Caveman Carl Everett who threw/got hit by a cell phone in the outfield?

I haven't heard that about either one. The main thing I remember about Bradley was when he was with the Dodgers and snapped on that fan down the RF line one night, slamming the water bottle down on the ledge and screaming at him.

You don't remember him shredding his knee as he was being held back by his manager while arguing with an ump? That was classic

Or when he chucked about everything that was in his team's dugout onto the field after being ejected

Or when he went after the KC announcer for saying on-air that Bradley has past behavior problems

Ug, I hated Carl Everett. One of the most ignorant POS of all time. Waste of talent. Both have great physical skills, but brains of shit.

That was crazy, but from what I hear the ump was really pulling his chain trying to provoke him. It worked. His rep didn't help his case either. I still don't think that situation was 100% Bradley's fault though.

"God created the sun, the stars, the heavens and the earth, and then made Adam and Eve. The Bible never says anything about dinosaurs. You can't say there were dinosaurs when you never saw them. Somebody actually saw Adam and Eve. No one ever saw a Tyrannosaurus rex."
