Hahaha John Halama is pitching in the Winter Leagues.
I thought that guy had died of old age or something.

It varies from year to year.
But we've had Jose Guillen, Kendry Morales, Nelson Cruz, Bartolo Colon, Vladimir Guerrero, Hanley Ramirez, Erick Aybar, Ronny Paulino, among others all playing here.
Usually what you see here is a lot of ML-ready talent taking their hacks with advanced pitching.

That's awesome. The best part about winterball is you never know who your going to see on the rosters. Sometimes it's quite surprising.

He had the single luckiest performance i have ever seen for a pitcher. Then out came Julian Tavarez (lol) and gives up the 2-run game winner.
Licey maintains its hot streak.

Well it was our very own version of Yankees- Red Sox, Tigueres Del Licey and Aguilas Del Cibao, Aguilas had John Halama pitching in the luckiest performance i have ever seen by a starting pitcher, with over 10 line drives that found gloves and around 4 warning track shots, (Quisqueya stadium is the Caribbean Petco, it's where HRs go to DIE), bottom line it's tied 1-1 in the 8th and in comes our old friend Julian Tavarez for the Aguilas, couple batters later
it's 3-1 Licey (Walk then HR, typical Tavarez). In the 9th comes Licey closer Oneli Perez, and ballgame.

Wait a minute!
There are stadiums in the DR?
How do the outfielders actually field a ball with all the monkeys and bananas in their paths?
It must make for some interesting ground rules!

Well.
Are there bleachers for Gom to drop balls in?
What would Damon's OPS be there?

Lots of bleachers for Gom to get butthurt over losing balls.
About Damon, his OPS sure as hell wouldn't be as good as in NYS, because, you know, stadiums here aren't a joke.

Re: 2009-2010 Winter Leagues Thread
Wait, wait wait.
Let's say Damon is playing. Monkeys all over the place. Who is in left field? How can the umps know who caught the ball?
And if Tex is at 1st. How can the umps differentiate between him all the horses and donkeys?
Is there instant replay in the DR?
