detroit tigers
after tonight's game the tigers have the best record in the league at 30-14 , i was looking at their pitching staff and so far they are ridiculos , 4 of their 5 starters has and ERA of 3.18 or less ,so the question is will they keep the pace or will they falther

Re: detroit tigers
They are a legit team with offense and pitching and a quality manager. They will be there all season long.

Re: detroit tigers
that ballpark is enormous and their core starters have been there a while
they have the best catcher of all time in Irod, albeit an older and less potent Irod
i like them but theyre a couple of pitchers too light to contend with the big boys just yet
they may indeed have a pop at the wild card with their quick start and the east beating each other into submission.
its a long long season
anyone remember baltimores record at this time last year??

Re: detroit tigers
Detroit has much better pitching than Baltimore did last year and a better manager.

Re: detroit tigers
agreed and they dont play in the al east either which will help them.
this was their box against cincinatti on sunday afternoon where they beat the reds 1-0
Detroit AB R H RBI 2B 3B HR W K AVG
Curtis Granderson CF 4 0 1 0 1 0 0 0 1 .256
Ramon Santiago 2B 2 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 1 .212
Placido Polanco PH-2B 1 0 1 1 0 0 0 0 0 .303
Carlos Guillen SS 4 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 2 .315
Magglio Ordonez RF 3 0 1 0 0 0 0 0 0 .316
Dmitri Young DH 3 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 3 .169
Chris Shelton 1B 3 0 2 0 0 0 0 0 0 .322
Craig Monroe LF 3 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 1 .222
Brandon Inge 3B 2 1 0 0 0 0 0 1 0 .223
Vance Wilson C 2 0 0 0 0 0 0 0 1 .294
Totals 27 1 5 1 1 0 0 1 9
i know that this isnt there every day lineup but it doesnt look like a team thats ready for the big boy show just yet
i like their staff...bonderman maroth, the coward of the bronx in kenny rogers...solid lefties are few and far between....theyre up and coming
if you put a couple power guys on their corners and get them a little deeper in the pen jim leyland can do the rest....of course the chisox appear ready to defend their title and cleveland will be heard from before its all said and done so who knows what the next 3/4 of the season will bring...

Re: detroit tigers
If Cleveland does not find any pitching then they will be in trouble.

Re: detroit tigers
Cleveland was never really a contender this year, in my opinion. But Im just amazed how the Tigers are doing. Lets see how the match up in the whitesox, tigers series thats coming up, is going to be, since both have amazing pitching, and hitting.

Moron, you are a White Sox fan. You are meant to hate the Indians, otherwise you are a bandwagon fan.
