To all my friends at Talksox
One of my best friends, who I've known dor years, is in terrible shape. I went to see him in the hospital and although I am no doctor I am convinced he has a very advanced form of stomach cancer.
Some of you know who he is from the other fantasy baseball league. He is the owner of Team Fawal. It is his first and likely last fantasy baseball league, and he is in the finals. I don't know why I mentioned that but I don't even know what to say.
I am not religious but he is. If you can take a moment to say a prayer for him I know he would appreciate it. So would I.
I feel like I have been punched in the throat.
If any of you guys would want to send him words of encouragement from our league or otherwise let me know in PM. Just don't let him know it's bad as he doesn't know and is in fragile shape.
I'm sorry If this is not the place but I am at a total loss.

I've seen a battle with cancer up close. My mother had a very scary lymphoma that manifested in her head and was invading her brain before the doctors figured out why she suddenly couldn't walk without falling down randomly.
We got lucky. Hope you do as well.
BTW -- in case you do get lucky. Dad took a philosophical I've come to love and respect after Mom officially entered remission. He calls every day a bonus day because he gets another extra day to spend with Mom that God didn't have to give him. Sometimes it's hard to remember that none of us are owed another breath, and to be grateful for it.
I guess if you're going to go through something like cancer with all the suffering and stress on family you might as well learn from it.
