has anyone here ever had their knee popped out of place ?
Well this happened to me yesterday and holy shit it was fucking horrible , I was moving furniture down a big stairway and landed awkwardly on my left leg and it just popped out of place . I could see my bone popping out 6 inches away where it should of been .
even with double dose of drugs the pain was too much and they had to put me to sleep to pop it back in . they wrapped a brace on my knee and I have to follow up in 2 days with a doctor .
so if this has happened to anyone , how long is the recovery time, how soon can I walk again ?

Re: has anyone here ever had their knee popped out of place ?
I don't know. I tore my knee up pretty badly back when I played badminton. It's actually why I don't play anymore. For almost two months I could barely walk and it was swollen so much that it looked like a big black fucking grapefruit. The doctor said I dis-something-ed it and I had to wear a small brace and a strength bandage on it. Even now I still get pains in it, especially after getting up from a crouching position or in the mornings getting out of bed.

Re: has anyone here ever had their knee popped out of place ?
never popped mine out of place, but I did tear the shit out of it playing high school football
was returning a kickoff down the sideline. Planted my right leg to try to cut back up field, when someone hit me in the chest/left shoulder. My foot stayed planed, but I spun around on the knee.
Felt it at moment of the twist, but not really much after that. Until I tried to put weight on it and realized I had no strength at all in the leg and I collapsed.

I popped my knee out playing wiffle ball. Let's just say I whiffed on a ball (and still fouled it off) and my knee popped out. I had to take a season off from playing rugby. It's bloody painful and annoying. I'm afraid to inform you that it's certainly a recurring injury.

Let me rephrase. You don't have worry about completely popping your knee out. If you rehab it properly (and do the "homework exercises") it shouldn't be a big deal. What I meant was that your knee will move around and you'll feel it click often, almost like cracking a knuckle, just slightly more serious. It's like a wrist or shoulder injury.

Evidently you didnt damage any tendons, muscles or damage the cap itself?
Be prepared to deal with these things from time to time, especially when moving heavy loads with your back....The best advise I could give would be to try and strengthen your quad muscles and lay off using your back for a dolly...If you could move the cap like a video game ball before this occured then its going to happen again, just be prepared when it does, you dont want a pallet of bricks or something precious to crash down upon you as you take the fall.
