Beaneater's Achievements

  1. It's true that both Crochet and especially Chapman are built like dump trucks. Without having done any research, I'm starting to like that build in a pitcher, both for endurance in a single game and durability over the course of a season. Not that there aren't freaks like Pedro who weighed 58 pounds but could pitch all day and twice on Sunday.
  2. For whatever reason, I'm feeling 9-1 as a final score tonight. The problem is that I don't know who is the 9 and who is the 1.
  3. Being hot is worth something. But as I recall we played a really hot but fundamentally not that great Rockies team in the 2007 World Series.... That said, we can beat the Yankees. We could have beaten the Jays or the Tigers or the Guardians too if it had shaken out that way.
  4. For sure Gio's got to rest today. I'm not really talking about any strategery to finagle a certain seed, just saying that if I could wave my magic wand, I'd probably take Cleveland in round 1 as the easiest option.
  5. But seriously, yeah, de Leon is going at least 7 even if he gives up 12 runs and his arm falls halfway off.
  6. I think we called up Beaneater's Mom to get us a few outs.
  7. Agree. The more I think about it, the more I like the idea of a series in Cleveland. Sure, we might get our butts handed to us-- that's always a possibility. But every other possibility seems significantly more formidable.
  8. Scrub Squad Alpha takes the early lead.
  9. Also, while I'm here, I think much could be said of how valuable Nate Eaton has been for the Sox down the stretch. Last night's pinch run steal and advance on error was a big part of the comeback.
  10. Raunchy front door sweeper to Greene. This Early kid has some stuff.
  11. In the replay it looked like he pretty clearly indicated a line to the ump as if to say, "Here's where that pitch was." I know if you draw an actual line in the dirt, you're gone, no questions asked. I'm guessing that the same gesture made in the air, as I think Vladdy did, is also a one-strike-you're-out offense.
  12. "After further review"... I think I agree with you completely. Neither the old classic game nor the new accurate game (which would be my preference), but something in between that's not as good as either. Good take, jad.
  13. Uhhhhh.... EDIT: I mean, offensively that lineup is not bad. We've had worse. But can Yoshida throw? Rays are going to go first to third all night.
  14. Mountcastle earns the golden sombrero with the bases loaded to end the game. And to imagine that I was figuring that Baltimore was actually going to give the Yanks some trouble. Rogers won for the O's but that was the end of the fun.
