Re: It's the most wonderful time of the year...
Keep in mind I will probably change my picks 12 times before Thursday.

Re: It's the most wonderful time of the year...
I went pretty deep in studying the bracket/teams today, and I only came up with my 1st round picks. Anyways, here they are:
East:
UNC over Mt St Mary/Coppin State
Indiana over Arkansas
Notre Dame over George Mason
Washington State over Winthrop
St Joseph's over Oklahoma
Louisville over Boise State
Butler over South Alabama
Tennessee over American
Midwest:
Kansas over Portland State
UNLV over Kent State
Villanova over Clemson
Vanderbilt over Siena
Kansas State over USC
Cal State Fullerton over Wisconsin
Davidson over Gonzaga
Georgetown over UMBC
South:
Memphis over Texas-Arlington
Mississippi State over Oregon
Michigan State over Temple
Pittsburgh over Oral Roberts
Kentucky over Marquette
Stanford over Cornell
St Mary's over Miami
Texas over Austin Peay
West:
UCLA over Mississippi Valley State
BYU over Texas A&M
Drake over Western Kentucky
UConn over San Diego
Baylor over Purdue
Xavier over Georgia
West Virginia over Arizona
Duke over Belmont
I'll edit with 2nd round picks (and beyond probably) tomorrow.

Means I know more about the teams/matchups, making it a more enjoyable tourney to watch.

what the fuck has gotten into Georgia and why did I convince myself not to pick them? Come on, Xavier...

seriously... i honestly thought they were going to flame out. they're a .500 mediocre team in a conference which had a mediocre year.
MAN UP XAVIER

Re: It's the most wonderful time of the year...
They're hitting everything and I can remember about four or five times when Xavier's failed to grab a loose ball or rebound that they've gotten their hands on that went right to Georgia and led to points for the Bulldogs or could've been points for Xavier.
This Gaines kid can play, which I say as he airballs a turnaround, fade-away in traffic.
Down to 6... again. But everytime Xavier cuts into the lead, Georgia hits a big shot...
edit: And Xavier leads 52-49. They turned up the D and got to the line on the other end.

Good thing Xavier won. Nice game between Kentucky and Marquette going on. Halftime there. Also, Jeff Adrien, alum of my HS, is on the cover of SI!

Re: It's the most wonderful time of the year...
Started out 3 for 3 (then again, who didn't?), but this second wave of games is going to kill me. I have Pitt, who's rolling, but I also have #11 Kentucky, who's down 2, #11 Baylor who's down 16, and #9 Kent State, who managed to score 10 points in the first half.
At the very least, I can be fortunate that I don't have any of these teams surviving the round of 32.
Just hoping Kentucky can give me 2 of 4 for now.
And great, now I have to worry about Jeff Adrien and the SI curse...

Re: It's the most wonderful time of the year...
If Kentucky could just hang onto the basketball or grab a defensive rebound or two they'd be doing very well... as it is, they can do neither and they trail by six.

Re: It's the most wonderful time of the year...
Except for the Kentucky-Marquette game, all these games on now are complete blowouts.

Re: It's the most wonderful time of the year...
Ugh... here I am stuck watching a 76-61 game... and then we'll be stuck with Stanford/Cornell until Mayo and Beasley face off at 7:10.
What a disappointing day so far. When the highlight of the day is Xavier beating Georgia by 12, you know it hasn't lived up to the hype so far.

Re: It's the most wonderful time of the year...
5/8 in the first wave of games. I need Winthrop and KState to come up big for me.
(And I can never bring myself to root for Duke)
